For some reason I just remembered that during last weeks game the announcers spoke about the NU sell out streak. They identified the school in second place as ND.
I am well aware that over the years there have been open seats in Memorial Stadium. I know businesses have purchased tickets to keep the streak alive. So technically the seats have been sold but through circumstances other than rabid fans buying them.
But the fact that ND claims the 2000 visit by NU to South Bend was a sellout makes any extra efforts NU has done to sell tickets pale in comparison.
As you all know, the ND stadium was half red. The area around the stadium looked like Lincoln on game day.
ND should step up and re-set their sellout string to reflect the real "sellout" that took place.
I was hoping one of the announcers would mention this but it didn't happen. They work off a script pretty much.
