I know there are many on here who will push hard for Pyle to be cut from the team immediately, but I think Rhule should go the John Cook route with Harper Murray route and give him a second chance.

There's no doubt in my mind that if Pyle goes to another school like a TCU or Iowa State, he would develop into a 3 year starter and draft pick.

Arrested for DUI on gameday

Good to see Uncle Donnie has his room in order

I disagree... Harper didn't get hers on gameday

Young dude in college who drank too much then drove? Unheard of! He should get the boot off the team!
The problem I have is he was out drunk after midnight on gameday against a team we NEEDED to beat. I don't care if he is a starter or not. The players need to be ready and in the right mind set for these games. It just proves they don't give two shits about Nebraska Football.

Dumb and dangerous and I in no way condone, but something to consider ...
Before the Mad Mothers succeeded in getting the threshold lowered, the magic line for DUI was .10, not .08. He tested nine one-thousanths of a millimeter over the old threshold. In my days as a prosecutor I would have automatically lowered his charge to Careless Driving, as the machine measuring BAC has a margin of error that his test would have fallen into. In other words, I could not have elicited sworn testimony that he was actually OVER the .10 requirement. He was right on the line, so likely not falling down shitfaced.

On the other hand ... Remember when the Brass Rail installed a BAC machine? The theory was that you could blow a sample to see if you were OK to drive. The reality was you'd spend the night pounding drinks to see how high you could test. It took a couple of hours to get above that .10 threshold, so he definitely had more than a few. Not good right before a game, but hardly shocking for a college kid.

Make him run stadium steps until he pukes and call it good. He'll get probation in county court

Maybe he knew he wasn’t gonna play?
