Should Nebraska Replace Adidas?

I play a lot of tennis and golf and to me Nike is slippng in golf especially. UA in great in golf but not tennis. Adidas is gaining in both in my opinion and it is highly regarded in Europe/internationally - in soccer, for their shoes, etc.

I used to think we should dump Adidas too but they are on the come.

Schools that contract with adidas should tell them to step up their game in relation to football or they will look elsewhwere. They dont want to lose those contracts. I think that Adidas has cime around a bit now that the football uniform craze is booming. I would like to see Nebraska wear a grey uniform.

I don't follow shoe trends, but my 10th grade son who used to always wear Under Armor apparel is now wearing Adidas shoes and apparel so I assume Adidas must be making a big comeback.

I thought I read that Nike was getting out of the golf business.

Tiger is falling off, and I adidas is big international play in golf. I like adidas if the money is same or close. If you go Nike aren't we supporting Oregon basically

Nike is staying in the golf apparel game. Adidas is so huge in golf because of there association with Taylormade. All players that play taylormade are made to wear adidas golf gear also.

I think Nike stuff is really cheap and low quality. I wear a lot of Adidas clothing besides all the Husker Adidas stuff I have and it is clearly better than anything Nike has. I wear Adidas about 90 % time playing golf. UA clothing is pretty good too. I have a few of their clothing for hunting, golf and baselayer for skiing. The UA baselayers I have for skiing are the best clothing I have for that use.

Finally living in the Northwest I would hate to go to Nike. With Nike's Phil Knight's hands all over the Oregon program I would feel like we Husker fans would be sucking up to the Ducks. My brother is a Husky living in Portland and he won't wear any Nike clothing for that very reason and U Dub is a Nike school. If you guys were out here you would see how it is pretty hard to separate Nike and Oregon from one another.

Whatever we decide to use, I think it's time...and I may catch crap for this, to switch up the uniforms more than once a year. I'm not saying anything drastic, like Oregon, but more like Wiscy (red helmets), and Minnesota (yellow jerseys). Something small that would catch a recruits attention. Ohio State makes subtle changes through the year too. It would be awesome to update us this way.

I agree that Nebraska should make several subtle changes to the uniform throughout the year. Like a muted herringbone pattern on the jersey or helmet etc. Add a grey and scarlet uniform.

We all bitch about our recruiting and we refuse to remarket our brand.
I agree with this statement, but it doesn't mean we have to change the look of the uniforms or necessarily the brand that makes it. I'm ok if we switch brands, but having all these alt uniforms hurts the brand imo.. we have a great uniform as it is... Oregon was a fad in more ways than one.

I don't want to change them as a whole, just little things. More Ohio State/Wiscy. Far far less Oregon.

i have always liked adidas. think i may have owned one or two pair of nikes, but, always went back to adidas. their clothing apparel was always ok, but, liking it more and more now. i do own a pair of under armor hunting boots (just purchased this year)---no complaints, really like them. would buy them again.

Ahhh what the hell is a muted herringbone pattern?

If some of you are so hung up about wearing white pants for away games I suggest wearing a scarlet red helmet with the same design we have on our white ones...

UA. Look what northwestern and wisc did. I don't even really like the fan gear selection from adidas

Nobody can touch what UA has for baselayers. And it has been that way for years.

Scarlet would be the actual color our jerseys and pants should be. The bright Red they have worn for decades is nowhere close. Neither is the White, should be Cream.

Matter of opinion they are scarlet if your not colored blind.Winking

I sat next to the lead designer for UA football cleats about two weeks back on a flight down to charlotte.

He's a Michigan fan but said UA was looking to get more into the B1G market and they'd love to have a team like NU.

Not sure if NU wants to switch brands but I certainly think interest would abound.

Nike is getting out of making clubs, bags and balls. Will stay with clothing. http://www.golf.com/equipment/nike-will-stop-making-golf-clubs-golf-balls-golf-bags

What is with some of these helmets this year? I watched OU and OSU yesterday and I swear I had no idea what was going on with the OSU helmets with the weird swirly things on one side. My wife asked me what is actually on the Maryland helmets and I have no clue, just lots of colors.

The problem with some of this is once you go to a chrome look helmet for a game or two, coming back to the basic ones looks pretty boring.

Frankly, the name brand stuff is all too expensive for me unless it is on sale. I think I have a couple Nike t's and that is about it. It store brand for me at Academy. What would the prices look like if we were an UA or Nike school? Would they go up substantially for the fan? UA stuff seems really expensive but I am a cheap on that kind of stuff.
