I'm not sure if this is directed at me or not, so let me clarify. Losing the best player on the team when we have 2 more years of her services is a mess. I don't blame the coach. I don't blame the player. It's simply a mess of a situation and now if one were hoping to see 7 wins maybe turn into 12 next season, it's unlikely to happen when you lose the best young talent on the team.Funny how certain people who probably never cared one bit about the women's basketball team suddenly act like they are concerned about them. I'm sure that has absolutely nothing to do with their feelings towards the current athletic director either. Funny too how hiring a former Nebraska player with head coaching experience in this situation is panned as a complete failure after one season, yet hiring another former Nebraska player without any coaching experience as a baseball coach is still defended by many despite producing nothing of substance over 5 years and not looking at another former Nebraska player without any head coaching experience as a football coach is described as some kind of failure. I guess hiring former Nebraska players only matters when it fits your agenda. The hypocrisy of people never ceases to amaze me.
The "best" player on the team who could have made Yori and Williams jobs much easier if she would hit the weight room and treadmill.I'm not sure if this is directed at me or not, so let me clarify. I only pay attention to the Husker women's basketball team from a distance, so I am certainly no expert, but I'm not here asking for the coach to be removed nor am I asserting any type of blame in the situation. But I do think it's pretty clear that losing a player of this caliber is bad news.
On the outside this may seem to hurt the team. But I am happy for Williams. Getting rid of Jess and Daddy are going to speed up the ability to rebuild the programI'm not sure if this is directed at me or not, so let me clarify. Reminder...its womens basketball...That coaching change worked out good
I posted in another thread that some people at Creighton weren't all that sad to see Yori leave back when we hired her. NU took a problem off their hands. Yori had won enough that they were going to have a tough time firing her. JS's issues were just the tip of the iceberg with CY and JS leaving is probably a good thing for the program in the long run if she wasn't willing to buy in. We are in a much better place IMO with our women's coaching staff now and I really don't think the rebuild will take that long. This next year could be rough because I think we'll be playing quite a few freshmen but I'm hopeful that it will pay off and then we'll have a coach that could be at NU for the next 20 to 30 years.I agree that the new coach needs time to get the house in order. But everyone hold tightly to that thought because they are likely to be beyond awful next season - like NBA-team-tanking-for-lottery-position bad
blah blah blah.
I heard it said the men's team would be better without White III because he was a cancer.
I heard it said the women's team would be better without Romeo because she was a cancer.
Both the above were utter bs.
I do believe the lady Huskers will be better off without Shephard though. Good riddance.
Addition by subtraction is all relative. In theory the NU men's team could have been just as good without him, but in the end, Miles & Company figured out a way to have worse chemistry at the end of the year than they probably would have had with White.I heard it said the men's team would be better without White III because he was a cancer.

I "heard" from one her players that played a bunch for her AND SAW some of the stuff at Creighton. I'm just glad she's gone. People need to get over her firing. There was very good cause to fire her and she went peacefully because of it. Tell me please what "rumor" got a coach who has been as successful as her fired? It wasn't rumors chump. The BS from know nothings criticizing the administration for canning her is not warranted. You've been doing a non-stop smear job on Yori for a while now. It's easy enough to spread BS stories without a shred of proof. Just 'what you've heard'.
How about you bring some actual facts instead of your usual rumor mongering?
For all we know, you had too much to drink (again) and misheard what was going on (again.)
IMO, she needs a fresh start. She's called a cancer and fat and lazy in just about every thread on here about our women's team. I don't know if attitude or locker room issues are why she's leaving or if she's just fed up with our fans and ready to start over. I suspect she'll be successful wherever she lands.Drama aside, there is very little talent in the current roster. If her goal is to win championships and play in the postseason, then I don't fault her for leaving. That roster is a dumpster fire right now.
