Having just been fired by USC for unbeknownst personal circumstances (that would completely affect your players and staff), I hope the guy gets his situation figured out. Some say it was a combination of pressure, divorce, etc. But in all honesty I hope the guy gets himself better.

My question is, once (and if) he rights himself, where does he coach next?

Don't know..can't imagine any major program would take a chance on him now. Alcohol was a problem when he was at Washington also (at least that is what I heard). A mid major may take a chance on him.

What the hell ever happened to Mangino?

Bo would actually be a great hire there. He could recruit from his car. Dead serious.

Well, if folks want to ditch Langs, I'm sure Sark wouldn't mind working for a fellow former USC Trojan.

He will have a reasonable starting gig within a year.

Not at a major program. Not unless he can demonstrate that he is stable and sober. It's not just a question of performance, which will eventually suffer; no boss wants to deal with the drama if they don't have to. It's frustrating and heartbreaking. His performance would have to be significantly better than other options the boss could afford.

Colorado State(ish) if he wants a H.C. gig. Stanford(ish) if he's OK with an off. cord. position. Not next year though, there would need to be some steps taken on his part and a year would be needed to show enough track record about being serious about getting your life back on track.
