He’s fine in the position he’s in.thoughts?
He’s Awesome! I’m cool with Ron.thoughts?
Says the guy whose first words about the Mickey Joseph arrest were, "Women exaggerate so called abuse."He's a top notch person, coach and mentor. Stop judging him...
Phew. Those are serious accusations.Says the guy whose first words about the Mickey Joseph arrest was were, "Women exaggerate so called abuse."
Amen. If he gets us elite talent…The world could use a few more Ron Browns.
Have you been thumped by Ron's Bible? Tish Tish. Pearls have been clutched.thoughts?
He's a top notch person, coach and mentor. Stop judging him...
Good post. We’ve gotten pretty good in general of villainizing people for a specific stance or belief no matter how much good they may do elsewhere. This is true for both sides of the aisle, btw.I think people sometimes forget you don't have to agree with somebody on every single thing to like em and think they're a great dude. Ron Brown is a great dude...I'll leave his views on gay marriage between him and the lord...
Ron has helped mentor two head coaches in the last 5 years. Scott Frost and Mickey Joseph. Neither of those show confidence in Ron Browns worth lately.Good post. That simply may mean he isn’t the best at mentoring guys making way more money than him in positions of authority over him with a certain amount of arrogance…Ron has helped mentor two head coaches in the last 5 years. You’re assuming those men wanted the mentoring and took it to heart.Ron has helped mentor two head coaches in the last 5 years. Scott Frost and Mickey Joseph. Neither of those show confidence in Ron Browns worth lately.
He is on full permanent pension with UNL ! He talked to Ruhle about Jesus, they held hands and cried, then he wrote his own contract !thoughts?
I didn't appreciate him proselytizing in Omaha in front of the City Council and using Memorial Stadium as his home address. As if the university agreed with his anti-inclusive rants. The U does not.
I do like that we have a longtime staff member on board who recognizes, and even remembers, the players of the past. That's important.
Really weird comment. You think Scott’s arrogant ass would be open to mentorship? You can offer all the advice you want. If a person isn’t open to learning, even a little bit from you, then that’s on them.Ron has helped mentor two head coaches in the last 5 years. Scott Frost and Mickey Joseph. He was on staff with Pelini too. If it weren’t for TO, Ron brown would be a nobodyReally weird comment. You think Scott’s arrogant ass would be open to mentorship? You can offer all the advice you want. If a person isn’t open to learning, even a little bit from you, then that’s on them.
Exactly! He’s entitled to his opinions. He’s done so many positive things for the U of Nebraska and the kids that have come through there. I think you have to look at a person in totality instead of letting one thing about them dominate your opinion of them.I think people sometimes forget you don't have to agree with somebody on every single thing to like em and think they're a great dude. 2 ways to look at that. You can certainly see that they both needed mentoring. And did they listen? Everyone has a right to choose their own path.Ron has helped mentor two head coaches in the last 5 years. Scott Frost and Mickey Joseph. Neither of those show confidence in Ron Browns worth lately.
There's a saying, goes something like "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink."2 ways to look at that. You can certainly see that they both needed mentoring. And did they listen? Everyone has a right to choose their own path.
@scopeandtimeI know this goes without saying, as most regular posters know this already, but siryacht has all the earmarks and qualities of being a troll. He has started several threads after just joining that are shady at best, trying to start stuff. He knows the divisive issues to raise.
When your mentor failures so much maybe it’s because you are not an effective mentor? There's a saying, goes something like "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink."

If our head coaches need mentors then we are hiring the wrong coaches.Ron has helped mentor two head coaches in the last 5 years. Scott Frost and Mickey Joseph. Neither of those show confidence in Ron Browns worth lately.
He's the RC bud. Same position he held under the last staff, and why? Because there isn't a better recruiter on the staff than him and has a proven track record a mile long and learned from some of the best in the indusry including 1 Bill Callahan who was already in the CFB recruiting Hall of Fame when he got here.Good that Ron Brown has been retained, and Vince Guinta is yet to be assigned a position since he's still here.
