to Lincoln up to next week instead of April for the Spring Game. Taking this as a very positive sign that he may commit before the class QB spot gets filled possibly by Gebbia. The future is looking bright Husker Nation! GBR!
Doubt they both pick N. Who ever picks N first gets the spot. (Though I think NU gets two QBs.)Can't imagine they wouldn't take both if they both want N.
Regardless of how it plays out, can we just take a moment to appreciate that two bigtime QB recruits may be in a race to commit to Nebraska?

These days two Rivals top 200 QB's don't usually pick the same school.
Two words: Ball placement.I'm a big fan of Jack Coan, something about that guy really impresses me, hard to put a finger on it, but here's some film to check out.
Agreed, he is on the money. Also noticed his quick feet...He gets a quick 3-4 step drop and pulls the trigger in a hurry. No defenders are even close to him at the time of release most of the time. This kid could be really good with some coaching from DL! GBR!Two words: Ball placement.
These aren't just *technically* completions. He's putting it right on the money for the WR to run after catch. It's not low and outside, it's not high and behind, it's not him tossing one into double coverage and just relying on inferior HS defenders to let him get away with it.
He is putting that piggy RIGHT where you want it to be.

Always the voice of reason.Guys...just so you know...Long Island high school football is terrible. This does not mean a great player can't come out of LI. In fact, two of the first players that come to my mind from the area were QBs including Heisman winner Vinny Testaverde. However, when watching Coan's film keep in mind he is playing against competition that is basically the equivalent of the JV team in some other states.

It's clear to see he's abusing some hapless teams in his film, but you can't fake a perfect ball on a 15-20 yard flag route. I don't think you really understand how weak the competition is. If he was playing in say Fla he might be going up against schools that have upwards of half a dozen future FBS players on their Ds. I would be surprised if you told me he even faced a single FBS recruit all of last year. What you can't tell from that film is how his mechanics, accuracy, decision making, etc. looks when he is going against players that can at least make him a bit uncomfortable, make him throw over people, into tighter windows, etc. I'm not saying he wouldn't look great against tougher competition...just saying we don't know. It's clear to see he's abusing some hapless teams in his film, but you can't fake a perfect ball on a 15-20 yard flag route. Watch how he keeps his feet firing and how he climbs the pocket. Those things aren't a product of inferior competition, that's his individual technique.
Why, do you mean to suggest that a lot of QBs don't play as well under duress?I don't think you really understand how weak the competition is. What I am saying is that sometimes kids can look like total different players once the competition gets a little better. Why, do you mean to suggest that a lot of QBs don't play as well under duress?
Holla."Word" isn't used nearly enough. Hope it makes a comeback.
I tend to agree. Honestly. There is more physicality on film watching Norfolk Catholic vs Wahoo Neumann in Nebraska C1.... However, Coan's skill set is high level. What you can't gauge about him is his ability to avoid legit pass rushers. A QB like O'Brien or Gebbia has faced high level talent in opposing front 7's. They've shown the ability to evade a rush without turning into Shane Morris from Michigan. Honestly... And this scares me, But Can kind of reminds me of Morris... Aka... Laser Rocket might be the greatest 7on7 qb in history...if only football wasn't played 11on11 with guys in pads...I tend to agree. Honestly. made me laugh......good assessment!Summary of thread: He may or may not live up to his ranking.
Can be said about every other prospect in the history of mankind.
