For those curious about numbers

If Calvin or Filiaga commits class moves up to 27th

If Holmes or Sarell commits it moves up to 25th

If Calvin and Holmes commits it moves up to 17th

If Calvin, Holmes and Sarell commit it moves up to 12th

If all commit it moves to 9th

Sounds like we'll be bumped up to 27th after Saturday, as we're almost 100% certain to land Calvin. I'm not sure we get any of the others right now; Holmes maybe, and I think we have a very, very remote shot at Sarell, but we're not getting Filiaga. That, and Greg Johnson, Deommodore Lenoir, and Joseph Lewis aren't supposed to be announcing Saturday.

I just want us to land Calvin and Damion Daniels for the time being. The other 5-6 openings (after they and now with Bradley) can be filled by whomever the coaches can snag and who fulfills a need.

Kind of scary to think that a coach could lose his job because of a made up ranking system for HS players but it is what it is!

You ever have a positive post?

His post is realistic. What has positivity ever done for Nebraska in the last 16 years? We haven't won a meaningful game in 16 years and get waxed on National television. Recruiting has been below average... so I guess you can keep getting offended when people are realistic and not spitting sunshine about every Nebraska topic.

How can we move to 17th with Calvin and Holmes and only 25th with Sarrell and Holmes? Sarrell is a 5* and ranked much higher than Calvin. Just curious.

ah...your sunshine chimes in as expected. Why the negative tone so close to signing day? Hawkeye fan I take it.

Ah the classic "you must be a fan of our rival team" since you're not a homer like us. Simple minded Nebraska fans, my favorite. I'll see you at the oregon game next year wearing my Nebraska gear.

Why so negative? You must have no hope and/or bright spots in your life. You are giving my alma mater a bad name, straighten and fly right Eaglet.

Pretty sure that's not how it works. I'm going go out on a limb and say that the W/L record at the end of the year and the teams overall performance in those wins/losses it what matters.

36th isn't realistic

So when you are wrong, will you own it?

I mean, it hasn't happened yet in all your posts to this board, but when you are, will you own it? Because I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we will finish quite a bit higher than 36...

I want us to do really well in this recruiting cycle. Pelini gave up on big targets, said we couldn't get 'em. One of the national recruiting analysts this year said we should give up on big targets, that we should go after middle of the pack recruits. So this isn't about Mike Riley for me. It's about if we have a staff that's willing to work hard and not give up, that we can still land guys. I want us to prove Pelini and the national recruiting analyst wrong.

With that being said, other teams will be landing targets as well, so a lot of teams will be moving up or down. There's no make or break number for me, especially since there's about a month of recruiting left.

I think we'll finish higher than 36th but not much higher. But my opinion has changed a little this morning with all this Darnay talk but if we don't land a 5 star, I'll stick with my original guess that we'll finish out of the top 25.

I'll be glad to eat crow if I'm ever wrong.

37th recruiting ranking is more realistic than 20 - 25th ranking?

We'll just have to take your word that you will come back onto this board and eat crow (unfortunately I have my doubts), but even if you do you'll most likely complain about whatever the next thing is.

Yes.. Considering who we're depending on to fill these final slots in this class. Three 5 stars and a few 4 stars from Cali. Clouse seems to be confident but we'll see. Science knows we've seen this before.

Of course I'll eat crow. I mean I never saw anyone on here eat crow when Wayne Lyons went elsewhere, Bo never winning a conference title and was a POS like I said in 2009, or Tyler Evans never going to see snap at Nebraska, or Aryon Bouzos being a putrid offer... But hey, whose keeping track?

They could miss on all those guys and they'll still finish much higher than 36th

What about adding Joseph Lewis. Greg Johnson, Jamir Calvin, or Lenoir. Could be an interesting weekend.

Seeing as we are currently ranked 36th.....IF we do not land anyone at the AA Game tomorrow our recruiting class would still be ranked 36th OR worse " following the AAA announcements" and sticking with the title to this thread. I never once said we would "finish" there . This thread is about what we will be ranked after tomorrow's game.

You must be pretty dense. Do you honestly believe the staff just calls it quits if none of these guys pick Nebraska? You do understand they will get plan B recruits?

This thread is not about which Plan B guys they will sign. It is about where we will be ranked after the AA Game tomorrow. Can you not read? If so I understand.....

only if no other team in the country gets any commits tomorrow because that would change their ratings as well

I understood what you meant originally. The OP specifically stated "following AAA announcements" I think everyone knows we're going to finish better than 36th, myself included, and I never read your posts as to say we would end up there after the recruiting cycle was completely finished.
