Not win/loss or championships -- not numbers. More other stuff. Leadership. Coaching style. Delegator. Trusting your assistants and letting them coach. Teacher (that was so big with Coach Osborne).

What made me think of this was re-watching the Spring Game and looking at things away from the ball. The other things. I saw this shot of Riley on the sidelines...

He's calm (of course it's the spring game but he shows this posture in real games as well). Hands behind back, watching/thinking/analyzing. Looks like he's relating to player next to him but he's not (may be been moments earlier). He presents himself as the man in control.

Of course he's certainly more comfortable with the press than TO was, more outgoing and less reserved. But I think he's a good fit both for the program and the culture at Nebraska. Sure, if prior coaches had won/not lost the way they did, we'd be fine with that. But they didn't and right now, I think this is reassuring to a lot of Husker fans.
