Riley is a tier 1 coach

Man you can't read. I never said anything about reading comprehension anywhere. Find it, but since you mention it you can add that. I said Bo didn't use social media. I said he got no help that he asked for in recruiting. You aren't very intelligent are you?

I'm done. You and your minions can continue to bait me but.....
Reading comprehension slam in another of your crappy posts about how bad a recruiter Riley is.

He got no help in recruiting because he didn't ask. He had a list of players he thought might come to Nebraska and the top players weren't on that list. Those were the players he never asked because Nebraska wasn't enticing enough. He barely used social media. Why do you think he didn't get the help? He didn't ask! When he asked for another plane, guess what? He got it! Stop comparing Bo and Riley. It does an incredible disservice to Mike.

If I didn't know any better I would say you are bent that Bo didn't get the support and that he got fired. Sure sounds that way. Each post you make reinforces the idiocy.

And? Are you suggesting Saban didn't become a good coach until he got older? Awesome! Riley is poised to do some amazing things then! Great post!

Saban got good when he started recruiting top 3 recruiting classes. He has all the s.

Great recruits = Great Coaching

Don't waste your time with her and her minions, they're dumber than a box of rocks.
Says the idiot who thinks Riley needs to get much much better at recruiting. Absolutely incredible that you keep banging that drum. I have yet to see anybody agree with you that Riley is doing a bad job.

Dumber than a box of rocks. Right.

Riley isn't getting more resources? Bo asked for help in recruiting and it fell on deaf ears.

Not even close to the truth.

Pelini staff not sure of new NCAA rule, March 2013:

From the above Sipple article:
"We're not just waiting and seeing (what happens)," Els said. "We're talking about guys and we're talking to guys, but certainly we're not going to hire someone and then a few months later say, 'Oops, your position is eliminated.'"

Pelini asked for help, and got it a few months later, October 2013:

Pelini asks for additional staff, and gets it, August 2014:

From the above ESPN article:
After the season Eichorst met with Pelini to find out what he needed to be more successful. Eichorst said he granted Pelini's requests for additional staff for recruiting, aircraft for recruiting and technology for football operations.

Recruiting budgets:

2010-11: $478,554 (Osborne)
2011-12: $752,681 (Osborne)
2012-13: $818,509 (Osborne)
2013-14: $904,269 (Eichorst)
2014-15: $991,818 (Eichorst)

Oh, one more thing, Pelini's last full recruiting cycle, Nebraska spent more money on private aircraft for the coaching staffs recruiting efforts than any other point in Nebraska football history.

Dang that Eichorst for not getting Pelini what he wanted.

late into this ... what is the criteria to qualify as a tier 1 coach?
I realize that some is subjective but it seems to me a tier 1 coach would have some of the following on their resume ...

division championships (plural)
conference championships (plural)
top 10 finishes
?? playoff appearance - national champion ??
build a perennial losing program into a contender

I am extremely happy we have Riley but I am not ready to declare him a tier 1 coach as his resume - at present - doesn't support it. He has the opportunity to to start building a solid case this year and in the future at Nebraska. At minimum that should include a division championship this year.
