Says he’s not concerned with RB depth. What?!
It seems both Holgerson and Rhule are satisfied with the options at RB. Holgerson is putting a premium on productivity in the pass game, hence Rhule’s comments about backs catching the ball.

It’s obvious this team will be a pass first offense. Nothing wrong with that if you have the horses at OL and WR.
I agree, there is nothing wrong with that if you have the personnel.. however can you do this consistently year after year? That is what the problem used to be, and why that style of offense wasn't a great fit for Nebraska.

However, now that you have NIL and are recruiting a team on a yearly basis, it becomes a bit less about geography, and more about $$$$... so I think it might be easier to get more year to year consistency, if you have the cash to spend.

just my opinion.

I don't think I want to classify the air raid as a gimmick offense but I also don't consider it a consistent championship offense either

to me, Nebraska should always be a running team, or at least that is what I want to see..

that said, I really just want to see them be successful.. W's.. I don't care how you get them, who you have to pay, or what you have to do, within reason.. winning cures all right?

I imagine a lot of other teams used to call Tom's offense a gimmick too, but yeah I miss seeing RB's take it to the house on a weekly basis.

Shouldn’t we wait and see how things look like in the first 2 or 3 games before we assume what kind offense we have?

I do miss that brand of football tremendously. The closest thing you’d get to it today is what the service academies are currently running.

Sounds like the kind of thing a coach says right before picking up about 3 running backs in the portal
You mean there’s reason to be worried when 3 backs coach mentioned make up. 1’s a walk-on, 1’s basically an open try-out late add, and one we beat in a heavy recruiting battle with Monthmout for?

What do you mean No? What the hell is wrong with you.
Until we see how Dana is going to run the offense you have no right to judge until they play few games.
It’s a message board. Some of you need to relax.

We can’t be handing out off season hardware all the time. EJ and Dom have already won the Broyles award 5 times each this last month

So are the rules officially changing in a week or so to restrict collectives and move only to revenue sharing? It sounds like Rhule was making that assumption.

That's right. Which will open up the $ec bagmen again because nil won't exist and will go underground again. That was my initial reaction from an article I read awhile back

It would be interesting to take away their ability to receive dollars for advertisements and sponsorships? So those go away too?

I think that’s a little extreme. Being overly critical of the offense at this point is definitely presumptuous and I don’t see the point of it. But to say they don’t have right to be critical…

Also, Charlie was clearly being facetious in his response. Thought that was obvious.

So what’s gonna happen to all these collectives that have popped up around every major D1 program? They all gonna close up shop and file chapter 7?

Wish I could remember the article. It was after the bowl season and the gist of it was a lot was riding on if the house ruling sticks and makes it through all court challenges

No. Under the terms of the House settlement, that’s the only type of NIL money that will be permissible. And if it’s over $600, it will need to be reported to a clearinghouse, and it will be allowed only if the clearinghouse determines that it does not exceed the fair market value of the service. “Pay for play” deals funded by collectives will be illegal. A federal court will decide whether to approve the settlement following a hearing on April 7.
