Recruiting Gurus: Best 3 Star Player

To ever play at Nebraska?

To ever play?

Thanks in advance.
Need a patent for a perpetual motion machine here. Other than Johnny Rodgers on a punt return. Or " Choo Choo Charlie Wilson and Tony Davis running up the middle

Man... I was curious so I just looked at the 2002-2005 classes... So many guys that never panned out. Some notable 3-stars from that time frame that would be in contention, though: Brandon Jackson and Zac Taylor.

This is interesting b/c I believe Zac Taylor was a better player than Ameer was at Nebraska, but am definitely being outvoted on this one. He just had a few years at Nebraska versus 4 for Ameer, but he did well in those years.

Some highlights from Taylor's career:
  • He was the Big XII Offensive Player of the Year
  • Led Nebraska to memorable wins over CU in 2005 (remember the Restore the Order t-shirts?) and over Michigan in the bowl game
  • Led Nebraska to a big comeback win over ATM
Ameer did nearly single-handedly prevent McNeese State from upsetting Nebraska his senior year, and was awesome against Miami that season, as well, but I'll always remember his fumbles being very costly. He had some big ones in bowl games, and also against Michigan State his senior year when Nebraska was clawing his way back into the game.

He was once first-team All B1G, and once second-team all B1G, so he was definitely a great player at Nebraska, I just think Taylor was slightly better.

Look at it this way:

If Ameer Abdullah was a Senior in 2006, Zac Taylor never sniffs Big 12 Player of the Year. And I can say that because I know Bill Callahan loved running the football.

Good point there. But also imagine if we had Zac Taylor at any point over the last 7 years (especially the last two years) - it's hard to think we don't win at least the B1G West with him at QB compared to what we had.

Another 3-star guy who was pretty good was Roy Helu.

The second question, "to ever play?", do you mean @ any school? Cause if you do, there's to many to even make a short list out of. manziel, mariota, & Bradford all won stiff arm trophies so, there are obviously worth mentioning. But there's so many I can't even count.

For NU, AA is the best 3-star but I'm not sure he's the best 3-star or less. IMO Guys like Spencer Long & Slauson were better at their respective spots and ranked lower by rivals.

1-5 are spot on. I don't agree with 6-10. B Jax is much higher than Carter or Bell. B Jax won a super bowl. Did Bell ever play a snap in the NFL regular season? I get it, @ NU but B Jax was a BMF in Lincoln. Very underrated

Kenny Bell was a 2 time All Big Ten WR and the all time leading receiver at Nebraska. Whether you like him or not, he had a much better college career than BJax. Hell, I'm slightly compelled to rank Cory Ross ahead of BJax.
