Riley Commits After Season Ended
This years class is actually coming together a lot like last years class. Both had very solid starts before the season, then tapered off during the season with verbal commits. Last year the coaches closed well flipping Jefferson from OU then landing Farniok and Jackson both right before/on signing day. The only real miss that I can remember was Fant and we added Engelhaupt to replace him. We ended with 6 commits that decided from January 20th - February 2nd(signing day).
This year is setting up to be a similar finish. Much like Farniok last year, we have 2 highly rated OT prospects that we have a shot at. Hopefully Cav gets to break another coffee table celebrating a commit this year
. Like Lamar Jackson last year, we have some highly rated defensive backs that we could land as well. We will have a much better picture of where this class stands after January 7th. Even if we miss on some of our top targets, I trust the coaches to bring in some good players as their "plan B" like Engelhaupt last year.
Color me optimistic, but I still think this class will land inside the top 20 in the worst case and could possibly be in the top 15 still. Once the commits start flowing, it could be a special January/Signing Day!
