I am more curious as to how you would rank each incoming freshman at the positions that we have multiple scholarship players coming in. Those positions are DB, LB, DL, OL, and WR. Here's mine:
DB:
1. Lee
2. Anderson
3. Williams
It is a close race between the three, but I liked what I saw from Lee in the All-star games.
LB:
1. Barry
2. Young
3. Talan
4. Ferguson
5. Reed
I included Reed in this group, as I see him contributing here much sooner than he could at safety. I think all 5 will be big time contributors down the road, but Barry and Young are on a different level athletically, which says a lot considering the guys in this group.
DL:
t1: K. Davis
t1: C. Davis
3: Neal
4: A. Davis
I don't really know how you can separate the twins at this point. Their talent and potential has been combed over repeatedly since their commitment. I think Neal has a special future ahead of him with his size and length, but I doubt we see it before his 3rd year in the program.
OL:
1. Barnett
2. Decker
3. Gaylord
This was a hard one to pick but Barnett wins based on his size. He is big enough to get out there tomorrow. With most incoming linemen though, he could probably use some time in the weight room before throwing him to the fire. Decker goes second as I think he had about as angry of film as anyone I watched last year.
WR:
1. Morgan
2. Alston
Both players will add some great talent to our WR corps, but Morgan makes me think of Westerkamp 2.0. Incredible hands, good leaping ability and has a knack for getting open. Alston's speed will be huge in the future as well.
