Randy Gregory suspended all of next year for another substance abuse hit

Him and Josh Gordon can get an apartment together and talk about what great football players they could have been.

I don't know Randy Gregory at all. Maybe he is just a totally immature and irresponsible dickhead, selfish and self entitled.
Or... maybe he is chronically depressed and has some emotional instability. Maybe he turns to weed for that buzz the same way an alcoholic turns to booze. For most of us looking from the outside his life seems ideal... so how can you shit that away over weed? But to him ... from inside his own damaged psyche... his life sucks and he hates it.
I think those are the two options: selfish, irresponsible, immature, dickhead, or a deeply sad dude addicted to a substance that helps him cope.

Idiot is all there is to be said. There is help out there for those that want it. He obviously dont want it.

I know this will irk many but I blame Bo for this one. If he wouldnt have coddled him while at NU, the kids could have got himself straight while in Lincoln.

This is not about weed. It's about a selfish immature person who is not doing what he has to do to be employable. Anyone know how many chances (if any) he has remaining in the NFL?

How is it known that Weed is the substance? I didnt see it mentioned in the article.

Past history, he likes reefer, lots of it.

I hope he doesn't pull a Rashaan Salaam in the future, but at some point this is going to hit him, the lost money and fame I mean.

Jerry is not releasing him. No way. He gets his life together. And they have a young pass rusher for cheap.

It's not like he beat or raped a woman, killed someone drinking and driving, or shot a person.

Get off your high horses.

You are right; and off yours or ours - you can bet he is hurting someone in some way with this. And much of the anguish here is for him; and however voiced, is actually willing to support; if we can find the pulse of effort.... 99% of these things end badly. Talk show doc; but an expert, said to a lady using alc and pills - you may not be ready yet if your not using all available substances and a prostitute. Saying his experience is they have to hit bottom, or they are probably gaming you. Different drugs effect various people in different ways - and todays weed is 10-100 times stronger than the grandparents ( and there is a competition to make money by being stronger ). He is losing millions; and after each time he is caught, he said what? Do addicts lie?

He'll never play again, doesn't appear to have the ability or desire to leave the wacky weed alone. Sad.

He looked decent the other day, despite the long layoff. The available years are ticking away though.

I hope you're kidding. The dude went to a JC for a reason. There's also a reason folks like Bama and others quit recruiting him.

If anyone uses this case to make a political statement about the legalization of weed, I would be happy to show you millions of cases of drunk drivers and alcoholics. All drugs can be addictive to some and not others.

Seriously though. How can Jason Garrett let this happen? This is HIS responsibility. How can we expect Randy to be responsible for his own actions?
That damn Jason Garrett needs fired! I am outraged! Where is the support staff???!!!

Is the first game of the year soon enough?
Why did it take this long for the staff to find out he wasn't going to class? I remember Tom knocking on players' doors asking why they missed class. It didn't happen again.

The whole nation seems to be trending toward a gradual legalization of marijuana. I personally think the NFL should drop it as a banned substance. Just my opinion.

I'm not writing 3 paragraphs to condemn a person for failing a drug test.

Secondly.....I laughed at your post. Take your ideology somewhere else.

You are right, and I agree, but it hasnt happened yet. I dont care if the NFL has a ban against oreos. It sounds ridiculous, but for the kind of money that can be made in such a short time, I wouldnt eat any oreos. No excuses for Randy or Josh Gordon. None.

Based on the fact that he has violated NFL policy three times in less than 2 despite knowing the penalty of a one year suspension, my guess is had Bo put his foot down, RG would have never finished his career at UNL (not finished his last year) - and I think Bo probably knew that and also knew how bad his D would be without RG
