I think tiers is better than a power rating for so many teams, especially early in the season.

Title contenders - tOSU

Playoff contenders - Penn St, USC, Oregon

Top 25 teams - Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa

Bowl teams - Illinois, Indiana, Rutgers, Washington, Wisconsin, Purdue, Maryland

Losing teams - UCLA, Minnesota, Northwestern, Michigan St
