Proud of this team...

I didn't expect the defense to come out and dominate that second half, but they did and made a game of it. If this team could somehow start putting 4 quarters of solid football together, they will do alright for the season. Hope like hell they can.

I was proud of the effort - just wish we had more consistency and cut down the mistakes. The stats make Lee look bad but he is not why we lost.

Oregon is a good (not great) team. Doesn't matter. I appreciate anyone who fights back and doesn't give up.

We lost a game we should have won today. Prediction: We'll beat a team we're supposed to lose to later this year. I'm looking forward to that!

That is what Mediocre Mike does...beats a team he shouldn't and gets beat by 2 or 3 he shouldn't and ends up with 6ish wins.

I like the kook aid, but let's not forget Oregon let off the gas. If they kept throwing vs running the clock and trying to get out with a W, it could have been a lot worse.

Down 28 to an un-ranked team is pretty hard to say we played hard. Sick of the moral victories and finding one or two things to be proud of. It's not like we played our young kids.

Last year, the Oregon coach made some boneheaded decisions that helped us win. The new coach went turtle in the fourth quarter. Maybe Oregon coaches just like Mike

Like Texas A&M took their foot off the gas vs UCLA? Nebraska had a little to do with Oregon not scoring ANYTHING in the second half, I don't buy that they totally shut the gas off.

Im not proud; expected to lose this game and they did.

They can still have a decent season....how bout we wait and see what happens.

Yes, proud of the effort, but remember this is against a team that was 4-8 last year and has a new coach. Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin - teams like that probably aren't going to let us back into the game so easily.

Willie Taggert runs the same offensive style that Oregon has for the last many years. Easy transition. Like when Urban came to OSU. One down year doesn't negate the fact that they have plenty of playmakers.

I'm proud of our defensive adjustments and effort in the second half. They could have easily thrown in the towel but didn't! If not for the turnovers we come back and win that thing. Don't know how good the Ducks are but they do have some great athletes and will be a tough out in Eugene this year.

Several recent teams woulda quit. Not these guys. I was impressed with their grit. Thanks for fighting, men!

Forgive me but living in Pac 12 country I am not so proud. I just delivered some food to my senior neighbor who is a Montana grad. Her boyfriend, a Linfield College grad, see Danny Langsdorf, is a Oregon season ticket holder and she was flying a Duck flag. She was more than happy to tell me all about the Ducks big win. Then the neighbor from across the street, a Golden Gopher alum, popped his head out his front door to ask me if I caught the "high school" team that played Oregon today? My WSU Cougar friends were texting me all afternoon. Not complaining, I proudly display the Red flag every Saturday the Huskers play, but it is a little tougher out here away from Nebraska.

Grow a sack and defend ur team.

They showed a lot of heart and pride in that second half. That was good to see. If they can figure out a way to play like that consistently then I think we may pull an upset or two in conference. If not, it could be a looooooong year.

Joker John takes a positive thread and makes it irrelevantly negative, thanks for that insightful contribution pal....

In other news very proud of the effort, I don't care if Oregon went vanilla in the 4th, not giving up a point in a half of football is insane, good luck finding when the last time that was done to an Oregon team. To think we were going to go undefeated is naive. Great overall effort but too many first half mistakes along with some dimes thrown by the ducks QB. Two of the TD's had great D coverage but better throws, most people are quick to blame others versus giving some credit when due. Proud of the team and happy to see progress!

That first half was about as an embarrassing of a showing that a football team could have. Better get used to the abuse, because anybody that saw it is gonna give you a hard time.

Thank you for the compliment.

Nebraska officially a moral victory program! Can't get real victories in a BIG game so you have to settle for a 2nd half moral victory

If we only would have showed those adjustments last week so we could have beat Ark State by a wider margin to make some people feel better.

Yeah....this screams "Moral Victory". Playing hard should be a bare minimum expectation every game. Sort of like keeping you car on the road on the way to work every day.

NU was flat out awful for 30 minutes. So awful that it cost them a game.

Give it a few more years and those rings will really be ancient. Good thing you have the history to show your players within the facility because they sure haven't seen a championship level program with thier own eyes ( baby eyes, kid eyes, teen eyes and college eyes) it must be so hard to accept that you guys get excited about moral victories now instead championships!

Just participation rings.[/QUOTE]

So the second half shouldn't give us hope that the kids might be figuring some things out? We shouldn't be happy that the kids played their hearts out and gave us a chance?

The loss absolutely sucks, but don't be pissed that some can see some good out of this team. Will it translate down the road? We certainly hope so. Moral victories suck. But the good can't be discounted either.

Won't be just ancient, but they'll be common place. Iowa AD will start handing them out for anything. Tackles, not fumbling, standing on the right side of neutral zone...

Lot to celebrate as an Iowa fan. Who needs moral victories and participation rings! Laughing

Very optimistic about this team. Grit goes a long way. To all of those who say that Oregon took their foot off the gas, maybe for a couple series, but not the whole half. Kudos to a team that sucked it up and represented. #GBR

Maybe ISU should have contacted Nebraska for tips on how to stop Wadley and or the Iowa running game since Nebraska has really shut that run game down the last two seasons. Can't wait to watch Wadley/Butler and the OLINE have fun with you again in November

You don't know me so stop with the 6th grade talk. It's way too easy to say BS stuff hiding behind the anonymity of an internet discussion board. You have no clue what I do or don't do. Did you watch the game? Did you see where Fox posted the Huskers record before 2001 and the record since then. You are just the type of fan that accepts mediocrity. "Oh, we only lost by 7 points. Gee, That's not bad. I am so proud" . The Huskers have to stop with the moral victories and Win some of these games.

Why are Iowa fans always living in the past? It's like that's all they have...
