“Scott Frost gets to the facility at 4am”
Brother I was in the coaching offices no less than 5-6 times during his tenure and Scott wasn’t in them even ONE time during my visits.

I sat in a prominent football administrators office for 4-5 hours one day and Scott never showed.

Facts.

I guess

But unlimited transfers and NIL were a reality the day Rhule was hired

Only thing that’s really changed is the 105 roster limit.
Agreed … all were available but I would like to think after two rounds he has learned more each round on how to integrate and leverage this new world.

Also Trev brought him in with the direction and expectation to build the program similar to yesteryear - which we are finding works when your program has been good and you can continuously build on the culture … but not when it has been a dumpster fire.

I think Holgerson has also helped this aggressive push as well.

It’s astounding to consider how anti collective and NIL Trev was. Truly astounding.

And people in the know won’t ever forget it

There’s no doubt Pedie tried to give Frank directions on recruiting and the staff’s personal behavior. Ultimately that’s what I’m saying and Pedie wasn’t wrong about our recruiting organization and the off field problems. It was a no win situation where Frank mistakenly thought that he didn’t answer to anybody and that the substance abuse and personal behavior didn’t matter. When Tom said “I thought we could have worked things out” I believe he was talking about the personal issues and recruiting organization. Carl’s issues will influence staff expectations and retention for decades. We’ve already seen. It play out this past summer. Moos had his own substance abuse problem so Frost got a pass….for a while.

I’ll add, I don’t believe Frank would have won conference championships had he been kept but he would have won a lot more bowl games than the clowns that followed including Bo.
Does this fanbase war ever end? I saw the program in rapid decline between 1997 and 2003. It was glaringly obvious that even KSU was now a step above NU at that point, let alone Texas and OU. Every single coaching staff since Osborne has been deficient in some area (recruiting, player development, staffing, work ethic, etc) and some more than others (Frost). Rhule finally seems to be good at most everything but took over a hollowed out, talentless program. The Solichnistas can't admit his flaws as a recruiter and with his staff hires. The Bonazis can't accept he was an ahole and poor recruiter. The Callamaniacs moan that he didn't get a chance to replace the DC. The Rileyists (do they exist?) long to be the Oregon St of the Big 10. The Frosties think 3 wins a year is acceptable since he QBed a NC team.
None of these coaches would have lasted at any top P5 conference power. That is just the reality.

Honestly everybody has opinions but none of those fan opinions about the past are going to make one bit of difference. It's time to move out of the past and focus on the here and now.

History is fun to debate. Speaking of history, I was driving home late from Omaha last night. I switched to Classic Vinyl after the PSU/ ND game was over. Listening to an Eagles song it hit me that that song came out 52 years ago when I was in high school. Damn I’m old. Sooo many great rock and roll songs. Fleetwood Mac song came on and I figure Stevie Nicks must be pushing 80 if she’s still alive. 😕

I really wish I would have seen some of my favorite bands in concert in the 80s and 90s, but life got in the way back then. Now they are too old, ill or dead. For instance I never saw Linda Ronstadt, Elton John or the Alman Brothers.

I wasn’t a big Jimmy Buffett fan but got to see him live in Vegas probably 8 years ago. It was FANTASTIC. We had seats on the side probably 30 feet in front of the stage and maybe 10 feet above the stage level. We couldn’t hand been more than a hundred feet from Buffet. Amazing concert. The number of hits he had as an artist or song writer was amazing.

I’ve never been a big concert goer. Too cheap and busy. Wished I had seen ZZ Top and a few others in their prime. A friend opened on drums in a band for Blood Sweat and Tears in the O Civic A in the early 70s. He was still in high school. His older brother was in the band. That had to have been wild.
