Portal players taken. 15 and counting. 1st in Big 10. 6th Nationally

There will be P2 teams, not P5. It's already P4 and 2 of the leagues are already becoming JV leagues, only to get worse.
I think there's a possibility that the transfer portal and NIL could still create some rogue football teams in those other conferences. Certainly some of the ACC schools and Notre Dame. What about a school like Texas Tech, for example? If they get the right coach with the right QB in place, there's enough NIL and outside dollars to bring in all sorts of talent. But the odds are against it.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, but Nebraska's best chance to a national title starts with bringing these super teams that have dominated back to the pack. That seems to be happening a bit with Alabama, Georgia and Clemson. Not so much with Ohio State.

Great transfer haul imo. Still want an electric RB.
Jamarian Parker would have had more early recruiting interest had he played his sophomore season. And with the increased interest, Parker would have a coin flip chance of being a five star instead of a four star. If Jamarian Parker was a five star, NU fans would be falling over themselves with excitement about getting a five star RB.

The problem is the B1G has far more money than anyone else. Alabama, Georgia and Clemson are coming back down to earth because they can’t afford to keep pace with OSU money-wise. And that goes for every other B1G school as well, like Michigan, PSU and USC.

Nebraska will have a chance because it’s part of the conference but it will be hard pressed to keep pace with the top schools in the league.

Here's my problem with this. Why are we trash and kstate has fb mbb wbb in top 25? Plus they've been respectful in a couple other sports. I've been told Lincoln has little to nothing for 20 year olds so it's hard to recruit to. Manhattan better than Lincoln??

It's somewhat cyclical....if I remember right, KSU is one of the few, if not only, P4 university to never have won a national championship in any sport.

True. But I guess I'm sick of the excuses and sick of the incompetence at the NU athletic department. The support and money has been there and they have completely fumbled the ball

Our men’s sports have been a mess for a loooong time. Baseball has been respectable at times, but they really haven’t been great since the early 2000s. It’s unbelievable that we haven’t even been able to accidentally land a decent basketball or football coach in the last 20 years. I hope Rhule is the guy for football, but I’d be lying if I said I’ve seen enough to be convinced. Also very skeptical about Bolt and Hoiberg. I wanted Hoiberg gone 2 years ago, but thought he definitely earned himself more time with last years tournament appearance. But it’s starting to look like that was anomaly and not the beginning of a trend.

Personally I’d fine with moving from Hoiberg if we don’t make the dance next year. And if he misses the B1G tourney 2 years in a row he needs to be gone, period.

. I think we have competent people in charge now. That doesn’t always mean success for the sports teams. I believe our basketball coaches are very good coaches but if we want to compete in MBB in the B1G our fans are going to have write some big checks. I think Rhule is making all the right moves and will get it done.

We need to look in the mirror before we remotely consider canning Fred. It’s about paying enough to get top recruits. Didn’t BYU just pay a kid 4 million to play for them?
