He gave up 0 sacks all of last season on over 300 snaps. He would be a huge get.
Purdue QB is not a long term answer for anything. They just want a viable backup if a true freshman isn't ready to. Chances are he'd be here one year then dip.
That left tackle will be one of the most sought after portal guys as of now. It'll be interesting to see what all portal in the 5 days after the season when the "good players " portal. Should we be patient and wait or take what we can now 🤔

I’m confused regarding the QB. Per Purdue site he had zero snaps last season ( redshirted?). Why is the staff even hosting the visit, HH is a better emergency backup than putting this guy in. Hoping we can do better.
Someone stated that Holgrorsen recruited him when he was at Houston. So, this must be someone that Holgorsen is targeting based on what he saw when recruiting him out of HS.

We also have Bode Soukup and Luke Longval who I assume are walk-on and good chance they are gone come fall.
Makes sense to have at least a 3rd scholly QB on the roster who is potentially serviceable or better. He was a high 3* or 4* qb in high school with a good arm.
It is amazing that we are going to be at the point of having potentially just 2 scholly QB's. Both Freshman. If something were to happen to DR we will be in serious trouble.

I watched quite a few, and there is very, very little drop back passing in that scheme. he isn't asked to do anything remotely close to what we ask our OTs to do consistently.

You can always put HH back to QB in an emergency. It's been proven time and again we're never going to give DR any real competition.
Im not even talking competition. We have to have a serviceable backup and a backup to the backup. Our offense sucks the way it is. Imagine it with an incapable QB. HH is a TE it's not fair to expect him to jump in and run the offense at this point.
Time and again, what are you going on about now. Just dismissing the competition he beat out last year and the incoming competition.
Beat out or was given? 5 chances to make plays to win the game and 5 times he blew it. Any other QB would have been rightly eviscerated for this.

This sure looks like a good prospect to me. He had success at his prior school. A young kid who will need to adjust to the step up in competition. We still need to get a big run stuffer, maybe a grad transfer? Is juco recruiting totally off the radar now?

Some of us live in reality. McCord wasn't going anywhere he wasn't guaranteed to start. Raiola wanted a chance to compete. You think McCord left OSU for Syracuse because of anything other than the guaranteed starting job? You think Raiola was coming to a bowless team where he was guaranteed to redshirt? We keep going over this and you just refuse to acknowledge reality.
