I don't think anything is a done deal. There's always that chance a player could be market shopping. Players have an agent in their ear giving them advice good or bad. It's the current fad to test the waters of the portal. There's always the chance that the staff encouraged them to move on as we need to cut players. I don't think there's anyone on here that truly knows just opinion. On big red wrap up last night they were thinking it's possible a player or 2 might change their mind and stay. We'll see
I suppose two can play this game. A guy enters the portal, assuming he has bargaining power to negotiate for a better deal with his current team. One guy hears crickets. We’ll help you pack. Another guy finds out what the staff really thinks of him and gives him that bump in pay.
Don’t know what the motivations are for a kid like Davis. The window for playing time at NU seems wide open, plus a good young DL Coach with NFL Coaching experience. It’s that vs. allegiance to White and Mr. Roast.
Let’s hope he has a change of heart and is willing to listen to the new coaches. These guys lose sight of the fact that they’ve already invested a lot in one place. It’s actually a lot easier to build upon that then start from scratch somewhere else.
this may turn out far better than we could have imagined with our recent roster. there are some pretty good players becoming available. just like it's always been only a different way of getting it done.

Depth is the concern and Juedy needs to up his game.
None of us really know what goes on with this portal recruiting world. James Williams says he's getting 30 phone calls an hour (obvious exaggeration) and has heard from Ohio State and A&M. That's why guys are in the portal. It would be tempting to see what the money is out there and there's no way to know until you do it.
Heard from and offered by are different. He will go to FSU, play sparingly and likely transfer again. MAC is a good spot for him to grow and develope.
I think the Williams kid is a bullshitter.
Looks like the KC crew is working on Nwaneri.
Davis and RVP would be fighting for the starting spot at DE. He would have definitely been getting a lot of reps but no way guaranteed to start.
Will be interesting to see where all these players end up. See how other coaches value them.
Definitely seems like he's a little out of touch with reality. Complaining about receiving recruiting calls when he's moving? Lol. That is literally something he 100% controls. Kind of seem like a complete dipshit the more he says.
Lots of these kids would sound like dipshits if you talked to them for 20 minutes.... because they're kids. Williams had a pretty meager upbringing, I'm sure he IS out of his depth on this entire situation.
I believe the situation with Cooper pissed him off. He clearly lobbed some tweets indicating that. Maybe it hit a little too close to home for him.
Well Knighton is such a father figure to him. Maybe he should provide some advice and tell the kid to stop doing interviews. I know I would if it was my kid.
Jamar Mozee was his HS coach and Isaiah was his teammate trumps Pot Roast right there.
Coaches of other schools don't get to see what other teams players enter the portal before anyone else until they enter it. Coaches contact players to try and get them in the portal but no coaching staffs have prior knowledge unless they talked said player into entering it. That's why. As soon as it was announced yesterday morning, Jamar got his ass down to KC really quick. Who know's, maybe Jamar and Isaiah have been woking on him for a bit. Nobody really knows.
It's hard to say. Some might be getting a sense of the market for themselves and then coming back to Rhule/1890 and saying this is what i'm worth. Pay up or i'm leaving.
What are you talking about? Williams announced he was entering the portal days ago. The older Mozee has been on staff all season. The younger Mozee signed last week. If they are all so close then what is Williams doing in the portal in the first place?
