Portal. 1st in Big 10. 5th Nationally

Does NU go after this monster OT?
You take him, if he says yes. Then bid goodbye to Teddy and Corc. We need guys that are actually good and can avoid injuries.
With a limit on roster spots now you cannot keep questionable players come Fall.
At worst, this guy is a rotation guy that can play some snaps at tackle or guard. Probably wouldn’t cost that much either, IMO

There is a lot of positive speculation about our NIL efforts this portal season going around today

Very encouraging

Lets win some meaningful football games this fall

@Tetonia arent you the one that said our collective sucks? And NU will never spend enough?
Hey man, I'm HAPPY with a few of the pickups we've had, specifically (desperately needed) O-Line talent.
Am a Math guy. Realize full well that each team's 'payroll' isn't public knowledge until your coach goes on record as having spent $20M+ buying championship-caliber talent, but conservative estimates from multiple folks put us between a third to half of that.... now I have ZERO clue as to what we've spent this offseason in portal acquisitions, but safe to say we're on a better trajectory than previous years. Wish this was a more transparent process, honestly. Speculation is speculation, but IMHO what we've seen on the field last few years of legally being able to pay players is much more a reflection of dollars spent than quality of coaching, and that's been mostly the point to my rants. Shouldn't come as much surprise that the schools known to have the deepest pockets have suddenly and PREDICTABLY become a lot more competitive. Superior talent makes average coaches look REALLY GOOD. Opposite also holds true.

And in this game, you have to spend money to get good so that you can attract better players so that you spend even more money. I don't follow things to know what NU's NIL capacity was in the past few years. I just think that the program and the coaching were so jacked up that the serious blue chip young kids and portal guys either didn't take NU seriously or just gave s quick look. I think the quality of recruiters has recently improved and having a guy like Phil Snow on staff is like having TO actively working in the building. Not so much comparing their accomplishments, but the fact that both are grounded guys who have seen a lot of football and coached a lot of good football.
In order to compete at the highest level, you can't have a G5 coaching staff like Frost did. Rhule's initial staff was an upgrade, but I would say the addition of Holgerson, Ek and other new coaches get NU closer to the type of staff that can do the things and get the players to be competitive in the top third of the league. Elite offensive talent will come to play for Holgerson. Defensive linemen who want to get to the pros are going to take a call from a coach who has been on the Chief's staff. The DB coach from UCF has been a coordinator. I like what I am seeing.
