On defense NE is not playing assignment football.
And shows a lack of effort ..The bend but don't break nonsense they play is not very affective against The spread offensive..If you look at teams that play in attacking style defense that's most effective against the spread ..
I don't believe it's totally about a lack of athletes.. So much of it comes down to effort and toughness..
I think our defensive has Lost any confidence they have in his scheme ..
Part of it is teams take on the personality of their head coach .
MR is a nice guy but a Mediocre coach .. You see him stand on the sidelines seemingly disconnected often when it goes bad ..the football team sees that too..
Granted there are other issues too just saying..
