Pledger and Bookie.....

Doesn't sound like they will be playing together but is neat to hear how close they really are..We are happy to have one of them on our side that's for sure!! Would love to add pledger... can't we just have a cherry on top lol

Kinda lost why Pledger wouldn't be more interested in us. We got Bookie and we are known for RB-U or close to it at the worst case. And theres no way you can tell me OU is known as any type of RB-U lol.

OU just had 2 RBs get drafted so I think he sees a chance to hop in and play right away.

Not to mention...all those OU rb's played for stoops who is still at OU. Our great RB's and our reputation for high level running backs is further removed by time, offensive philosophy and coaches.

Not sure if serious?!?! I hope not.

I am pretty sure more people know of Adrian Peterson and DiMarco Murray than Ameer Abdullah or Rex Burkhead.

Add in Perine and Mixon and OU looks mighty appealing.

No disrespect to Rozier, Craig, Rathman, Green, etc etc but 18 year olds, not from Nebraska, don't know those names.

I don't want to "like" you, but yeah.... this.

I get where you are coming from, because I see Nebraska as a big opportunity for PT. What I don't see is how this staff can sell Nebraska as RB/U. I think Pledger could look at our current roster and see when he gets here the only two guys he has to worry about is a instate kid and a Tre Bryant as a Junior. There is definitely opportunity at Nebraska, so why not give it a shot.

You get Bookie and the Opportunity for early PT

Ok i was a tad wrong when it comes to OU and RBs. I look at the season stats the past several years and each year they had 1000 plus rusher each year. And the few times they didnt there top RB still had 900 plus yards. Ok so i was off, not sure i was thinking. Be even still, you'd assume our Huskers would have big appeal to RBs then OU. That still hasnt changed any.

Not really. OU is a more attractive "win now" option. Nebraska needs to win a couple of big games to pull some of these recruits. Our staff is doing a great job of recruiting, but guys like Pledger are going to go where they feel they can play early and win. Not one without the other. .

Bottom line is OU puts kids in the league. Think of the first 3 rounds - who have we put in??? When kids think of Neb we're called kicker U. Let that sync in.

Or we're tied to Gregory, Slausen, Incognito, Suh, Dennard - not exactly a pillar to society. I know I left a few off but the point should be clear.

Stupid post if you're arguing that pledger should go to OU if he wants to get in the league. Pledger could go anywhere he wanted and he is gonna play in the league. He could go to Mississippi Valley State and he would go to the league.

And I don't think most high school recruits are looking at Suh and saying, "He went to Nebraska? Hen I don't want to go there!" Or any of those you named for that matter... why not name Ameer? Will Compton? Rex Burkhead? Is it because they didn't fit your narrative?

Well stated. I would argue this will be just where rb's will want to come to train for the NFL. TA is being replaced with qb's who are going to be hitting rb's as prime receivers and as check downs and on quick release when there is pressure. While doing all this, they are going to be getting an advanced degree is pass blocking. There will be ample opportunities to show their running ability in traffic, the coaches are also willing to get guys in the game and then go with the hot hand. Our coaches and AD have the contacts to get them try outs if they are not drafted ( see TA ). GBR
