Got back from the game late last night (Sun). So sorry if this has been addressed. Sitting in the stands and it is 28 - 6 Nebraska and we get the ball back with just over 12 minutes left. Why did Riley / Langsdorf put POB in for a series or two. We basically ran the ball (which was what we needed to do to kill the clock) with the exception of one or two passes. We are 5 games into the season and our backup QB has yet to see the field. There is another thread that questions if the backups are performing better than the starters. Is Riley now playing to protect his season? Worried that if we gave up the ball Illinois would have scored. With that we will never have a big enough lead to give the back up QB a chance. Or is POB that far behind and he is giving him a signal to move on next year that he will never be the starter? Welcome your thoughts.
It was a great weekend. - started with the Cubs going extras against the cards on Thursday - A Nebraska victory on Friday night and then 18 great holes of golf in Peoria.
