The 2015 Purdue loss may be the worst lost Nebraska has had in the last 50 years. But it’s important to remember that we have also had 5 National Championships in that same span (10% of them – a feat no other team can boast in that span). In life, there are highs and lows. We are clearly in a low – and we need to work out way back to the top. I refuse to believe Nebraska will become a “has been” like Minnesota and Pitt (great programs of the old that are mediocre today). There is too much money, fan support and infrastructure in place to let that happen (and no other contenders to take its spot). Not sure what the right solutions are – more changes at the top or allowing more time on this new program … but I firmly believe we are bottoming out - and it can only get better.

It is unfortunate it came to this. It did not have to get this bad. I would say we seen not one – but a number of missteps by our program starting in November 1997 and forward to bring us to where we are today. But let’s keep supporting this great program. Have your opinions on what the solutions should be – but keep supporting the great Nebraska Football program. It’s given us too much to be happy about in the last 50 years to hope for fewer fans at the games or more failure to get change. Enough notice has been served at this point.

Go Big Red!

The only conclusion I can make is the University is either really bad at making football hires (and getting worse), or they only care to keep the brand "valued" so they can keep maximizing the dollars generated. This season is bad enough the accountants will start to take note - that may result in changes quicker than I expected (especially after some of the articles that came out after the game).

Not accurate. In the last 50 years, Alabama has won 8 national championships, USC has won 6 and Miami has won 5.
