When i rewatched the spring game he really stood out to me among our OLB. He showed more fast twitch explosion than Davis and imo better pass rush ability. He also had two passes knocked down as well.
I know he came in as a ILB but he seems to be making the transition outside. I heard a lot about Newby/Gifford/Davis and after he was cleared to play Ferguson. But i have to admit just from the naked eye outside of Gifford i liked what i seen from Jefferson the most. I seen quickness,a motor, he actually attempted a few swim moves as well as dip and rip moves to try and rush the passer. Again i was pleasantly surprised. He also seemed much more fluid and athletic than he did on his HS film.
Now I know hes raw at the position but I was wondering if Diaco or Brey or ANYONE mentioned him during spring? If so how do they feel about him and do they think he has a shot to play this year.
We need pass rushers in the worse way and if this guy can help us this year that might bode well for the entire team. TIA to any replies.
