Sorry its a slow day and I had a conversation at work with our marketing team about these companies having no loyalty to long time subscribers.
With these companies losing more subscribers than ever, they keep offering new customers crazy good deals which makes existing customers look like fools. Threatening to leave to a streaming service will get you cheaper rates for a year or two to keep you happy....
Heres the strategy. (granted with this idea you would probably start at a higher price than they offer now.)
If these companies were to offer an incentive program where with every year with the company they lower your bill by 5-10 dollars (obviously maxed discount at some point) or upgrade you to a better package for free (HBO, Stars, include Netlix or Hulu whatever they can swing. etc.) Or after 5 years they bump your internet speed for free. Would you consider going back to cable or Satellite with these kind of incentives or would the initial more expensive price scare you and other people away due to the "i want to save now" attitude?
