Wife broke her foot last June in her employers parking lot. She was 7 months pregnant at the time, and the baby was fine but it was a very unpleasant situation for her to be in a boot and unable to drive for 12 weeks.

Workmans comp payed for all medical bills and mileage to/from appointments. The foot has been healed per the orthopedic surgeon, but she still doesn't feel 100% on it yet and worries it could rebreak in the future.

Workmans comp has now offered her 2k if she'll sign a release. We assume the release would indicate that the claim is complete and she has no legal recourse.

Anyone with experience here? Lawyer up? Don't sign? Negotiate more money without a lawyer?
