Regardless of where you stand on the election, it's heartening that this country had developed such a sophisticated system of checks and balances, that it is nearly impossible for any of the predictions and rantings on the left (as is now the case) or the same on the right in 2008, to ever come to pass. The "divisiveness" that is so often seen as a threat to our society is actually a critical element in preventing us from becoming a fascist dictatorship or a socialist/communist dictatorship.

After every election, we have a small subset of the population that is so butt hurt (left or right), that they take to the streets, social media, or the normal media expressing their unrealistic and false vision of where America is going. In the present case, it's the clowns who are marching against Trump's completely fair and constitutional victory in the election who are helping in part to ensure the stability of the government. It would be easy to look at these people and say "just damn". The fact that they are totally clueless on how Donald Trump will govern is both amusing and disturbing, and the ignorant state of college age people in 2016 is pretty stunning.

However, the fact that they are out there gives the reasonable midsection of the country cause to both laugh at their folly and say to the new leaders "look at these crazy people who think you're going to do this or that when we KNOW of course that you aren't, right? It sends a message to whoever we elect that they better damn well not go where these people claim they might, a message that comes not from the protesters but rather from our response to the protests.

In reality, we scream about our government moves too slow in making changes, but that's actually at the end of the day one of the best things about our government. We might not get our health insurance system fixed overnight, but we never have to worry that we might wake up in the morning wondering if there had been a coup in Washington overnight.
