Anyone have a Fitbit or similar product? I'd like to get one, and all I really want is those three things, to tell time, keep track of the steps and approximate calories burned. I don't care about the heart monitoring, and all the other stuff they can do. It's not important enough to me to spend a ton of cash, as I have been using my phone to keep track, but it burns the battery down, and I need a new watch anyway. Any suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated.

I have a fitbit. Love the calorie outtake so I can monitor my intake. It's broken right now but wear it every day.

Fitbit will send you a new one if you call them. Wife's started malfunctioning, and she had a new one sitting on our doorstep 3 days later. Fitbit's customer service is fantasmo.

i have one and like it, just wish i had a thinner model.

don't fall into the trap that many do
they get a fitbit or whatever with the idea of improving fitness and use it to show how many steps they do during a normal day and come to the conclusion that they are already getting enough "exercise" and don't need to do anything additional

sometimes used to justify not needing to exercise outside of a normal work day
simple day to day walking is OK but if your HR isn't elevated a bit for an extended period of time I question how much true benefit a person is getting

good luck

Love my Fitbit charge. I need something to hold me accountable - I know I'm supposed to walk more but having a number to shoot for works for me. During the Superbowl I was up and doing stairs instead of vegging out during the boring game. :) I also challenge my son. He usually wins but we're both competitive.

It kind of depends on how much you want to spend. Most of your basic fitness trackers, like your more basic FitBits and similar types, don't have any sort of display on them, so wouldn't work for your purpose. A full fledged smart watch would do what you want, but probably is more than you really want.
One that would fit all three of your criteria that just came out is the Fossil Q54 Pilot. For all intents and purposes, it looks just like a regular analog watch, but it has some smart bits inside, which allow it to track your steps and a few other things. You connect it to your phone, and it reports the information where you can see it. It also has some other features, just search Google for a review to see more information. It's $175 for one with a leather band or $215 with a Stainless Steel band.
If you're looking more towards a true fitness tracker type thing, I've seen a lot of good things about the UA Band. Currently it's only available to buy as part of a kit, but will be available to buy individually in March. It has a display for telling time, and does all the other stuff you want as well. Search Google for the UA Band for more info on that one.
Those are just a couple options, I'm sure others can give you some more.

My wife has a fitbit and she likes it. Just my opinion, if something help you to stay healthy, it's probably worth it.

I have a Fitbit Surge to monitor steps, pulse, sleep and exercise. I like that it syncs with my phone. I also track calories. I love it and find it challenges me to be more active and more accountable with calories. The Fitbit app on my phone is also helpful.

I was surprised that the Fitbit Surge also receives text messages. The charge lasts for several days. I bought it to monitor my pulse while hiking the Appalachian trail last year.
