Verizon is now making live NFL games available to all its current mobile customers for free after previously restricting the premium content to certain price tiers. Games available exclusively to all Verizon wireless subscribers as part of its ongoing partnership with the league will include local Sunday afternoon games, "Sunday Night Football", "Monday Night Football" and "Thursday Night Football". Live streaming of NFL Network will also now be available for free to all Verizon mobile subscribers. The live games and NFL Network stream will be available through a newly rebuilt NFL Mobile app. However, cellular data use charges will still apply.

The expanded availability of live NFL games to Verizon subscribers mirrors a similar liberalization DirecTV recently implemented for college students and apartment dwellers to gain digital access to NFL Sunday Ticket.

NFL Mobile is available to all carriers, but mobile access to live streaming local Sunday games and other weeknight matchups are exclusive to Verizon subscribers. Verizon also offers NFL RedZone for $1.99 per month during the regular season.
