Random I know but I swear I've found myself watching more of this on Syfy than bowl games. I've known about the show and I've actually seen the movie but I've never seen an episode of the show. Great may be an understatement. Acting, directing, writing and camera work are all some of the best for any show EVER imo. It's also easy to see the massive influence it has on future tv shows and even movies. Probably one of the 10 or maybe even 5 best TV shows of all time imo and maybe the most influential.

Agree. It was a great series if you like sci fi at all.

Trivia tidbit: Earl Hamner (Waltons creator) wrote many episodes of Twilight Zone

I bought the series on dvd a few years ago for 50 bucks. Money well spent. Great writing and acting in so many of these episodes. Its a shame that no matter how hard they try, the networks cant replicate the quality for new stories.

No matter how many times I have seen them, the Talking Tina episode with Telly Savalas and the hitchhiker episode with Inger Stevens still give me goose bumps.

The cool thing about this SciFi marathon is they are showing the hour-long episodes, which are rarely seen. I saw one I had never seen before yesterday with Robert Duvall wishing himself into a dollhouse to be with a girl. And I thought I had seen them all.

The Twilight Zone is excellent, but the Outer Limits is just a half step behind. I have both on DVD and go on a binge every once in a while.

It's holiday tradition at my place that I force my kids to watch this marathon every year. They even have their favorite episodes by now.

And also Night Gallery was decent as well.

Times were different then as evidenced by Rod Serling smoking a butt when he introduced the show. Heck, I remember Barry Switzer and Coach Selmon used to smoke on the sideline during games.

Best episodes were Burgess Meredith in Obsolete, and the story of the man who inadvertently released Satan out of captivity by Monks in eastern Europe.
