OT: Soundbar Advice

Looking at getting a soundbar for myself for Christmas and was looking for some advice from you guys that have them. I have a huge living room so I value sound quality for music and watching games over any other functions. Any advice would be appreciated. Looking at a budget of $500 or less. Thanks in advance. Leaning towards the Sony HT-CT800 right now
