It never fails to amaze me how Hollywood can continue to make money making sequel after sequel on movies that essentially have the same plot and story line. Take the Jurassic Park franchise. There are now 7 in the series, and with some minor tweaks, they all begin with an interesting high tech program to do something really cool, sprinkle in some innocent people who shouldn't be there and some diabolical people, and then about half way through the movie something goes bad and then there's a bunch of cool special effects destroying everything in sight and ruining the dream of the people who started it in the first place. Then at the end the innocent and good looking people survive and are all now savvy. One would think that after 2-3 of these movies where things go bad, that the people who manufacture dinosaurs would stop making theme parks out of it.

The fast and furious movies are about the same (although awesome and with a lot of hot men and women), along with all of the Rocky and Indiana Jones movies. I'm really glad that Spielberg refused to make a sequel to ET and Hackford didn't make a sequel to Officer and a Gentlemen. Had they done that, it would have completely ruined 2 of the best endings of any movies ever. Frankly, I thought the end of the original Rocky was beautiful and perfect. The man just came within an eyelash of winning the greatest championship in the world, and all he could think of was Adrian.
