OT Selling a car to a private party

[huskerdogg]

Does anybody know what steps are needed for selling a car to a 3rd party in Nebraska? If I have the title, do I hand it to the buyer? What do I do with my license plates? Do I take them to the DMV and get credit off registering my new vehicle?

If anybody could explain it like I'm 5, that would be great. I see the DMV website, but doesn't plain English some of my questions above.
