OT- Russell Wilson

NFL fan bases are making a big deal out of the report that Wilson could be signed to the veteran minimum contract since anything he signs for next season will be coming out of his guaranteed Denver money. But there's nothing about this guy that tells me that his ego would allow such a thing. He's gonna want a guaranteed starting job and at least a two year contract with all of the money coming in year two. And who wants an aging, hold onto the football too long, locker room cancer as their starting QB? If I'm wrong, then he'll get picked up right away for the veteran minimum on a one year deal.

That was my first thought as well. Wilson has never come across as a guy who would do that to me. We'll see.

Zero.

To many teams need a QB and since Denver is paying his salary he can be had for cheap, if he is willing to let that happen.
Yeah I think someone will take a low-cost flyer on Wilson. Plus I don't think Wilson could handle suddenly NOT being a celebrity.

Say what you want about Wilson. He was not that bad if you compare him to other QB's over the last 2 years. He also played for Hackett for a year that any QB is not going to do well. He learned 2 new systems and still has decent stats compared toother QB's.

Last year he had 3 less TD's but 10 less INT's than Josh Allen plus was sacked almost twice as much, he was in the top 9 of TD's and 66% completion % is right up there. 98 passer rating is pretty decent based on others last year. Again he was the 4th most sacked QB in the league. Some of that could have been on him but still. 45 sacks is a ton.

I am not a huge fan of his, but Denver is spending a ridiculous amount of money to get rid of a veteran decent QB. They better be careful they could get much worse.

I’m hearing Kirko to the Falcons on a two year guaranteed money deal and the Vikings bringing in Russell to replace him. I don’t love the move, but maybe his play is better indoors.

He played alright. The Broncos just gave up waaay too much and are on the losing end of probably the worst trade in NFL history. At least since Jimmy fleeced the Vikings on the Herschel trade.

Vikings going from a QB who can't play due to an jnjury, to one who can't play because he's washed up. Sweet move.

I am by no means a Wilson fan, but Sean Payton is a twat and I see no way he has any success at Denver.

And the worst part was, the Broncos bit on Wilson's "you have to give me a new contract or I won't waive my no-trade clause" bullshit.

Wilson wanted out of Seattle and the Seahawks clearly wanted him gone. And yet the Broncos slobbered on him as if they were trying to pry Mahomes away from the Chiefs.

He is not near as bad as you and pothers are making him out to be. He threw 1 less TD than Mahomes last year. Yes it is one stat but go look them all up. He is in the top 10-15 QB's in the league still stat wise. Even after playing for a coach who is a ridiculous disaster and Payton who clearly doesn't want him there.

He's terrible. Period. Washed. Ego maniac. Disliked by his teamates.

OK Well that is yore opinion. He is not near as bad as people make him out to be ON THE FIELD. Now in the locker room and teammates it's hard to say. Not many come out and say it publicly so most like you and me just hear reporters. That is inherently inaccurate or at least bias at best.

Yep, don’t love it. They tried out several of the guys after Kirko went down, and none of them are good enough either. They’ll get one of the top QBs in the draft.

Just seems like a recipe for disaster, especially within the locker room. Why take a one-year flier on a guy like that? You're chances of being successful are minimal and you've fragmented the team when you could be instead rolling the dice on someone who is an up-and-comer with a longer term positive gain.

Cowboys always my team. Dad was a Navy WWII vet, and was a fan of Staubach. I just glommed on, and never got off the Wagon!

I loved the Herschel trade. Best of all time, it lead to 3 SB wins, and probably more if Jerrah and Jimmy would not have gotten drunk and hurt each others feelings.

The Vikes gave up more draft choices I believe, but nowhere near the money.

I line what Tomlin has accomplished, but seems to not have the same cache these days.

Remember, I am a Cowboy, and hate the Steelers!!!!

😜
I'm a Raiders fan and I hate you both! Took me the longest time not to hate the Cowboys. I'm indifferent these days. Probably because they've been in Arlington for too long by now. Also, have a buddy who works at the stadium. Always sending me pics.

Cheers Boxes!!🥃

But Staubach was Navy, and a Vet and all.
I was 10 watching Baltimore beat them on a last minute Field Goal.

I hate Baltimore too, but not sure who to hate these days.

I used to love to hate on Coach Landry, but Landry was a war hero in the Army Air Corps. Flew 30 missions over Europe in 1944/1945. Had to ditch in Belgium when they ran out of fuel. My father was in the Army Air Coprs, too. It was a different time.
