This morning in Council Bluffs. Our justice system really needs to step up.
They were transporting him back to jail. They got inside the vehicle port of the jail. He stole the van and drove through the door. Stole another car with a woman in it. Wish Iowa had the death penalty.
This one hit close to home. Officer Burbridge is related to someone my wife knows very well. The death penalty might not be good enough for the illegal pos that just committed two murders.
From my understanding, upon sentencing, he was asked if he had anything to say to the victim's family. He said something along the lines that the victim was an idiot for getting involved in something that was none of his business, so he deserved to be murdered.
Is he here illegally?
Not seeing that reported, but they probably wouldn't report that.
Edit- He is.

Thought he was from Puerto Rico?
I read that he is an illegal Dominican National.
Of course none of the news outlets in my area are reporting that fact.I read that he is an illegal Dominican National.

Probably because it's not true. It's been reported that he's a Dominican national, but not that he was here illegally.
If he were illegal, I assume they would have deported him for his prior crimes rather than sentencing him to prison. And if he were illegal, I assume fox and breitbart would be all over it. They are not.
Very sad situation regardless.
Prayers for the families of all who were involved yesterday... Especially the deputy that lost his life. It is just a sad situation all around. If someone commits a crime in the US, they will almost always serve their time for the crime in the US before being deported. If they are ordered deported following the completion of their sentence they are turned over to ICE the minute the sentence is completed. They may end up staying in the same prison/jail while ICE completes the deportation process.
And yes, it is a terrible situation.
