Question, yesterday I tore out all the carpet in our primary bedroom including the tack board along the perimeter that holds the carpet, staples, etc and prepped the floor for new luxury vinyl I’m installing today.
I’m replacing a couple doors in the room (bathroom and closet) and I had originally planned on reusing the existing door jams after painting them white on Friday night. I’ve been researching some nice solid 6 panel doors and most of the highest quality doors come prehung with new door jams.
Should I just take the old door jams out and put in prehung doors AFTER putting the flooring in today? That makes sense to me because the trim is already off on both sides of the door and I was going to have to cut the door jams any way to slide the flooring underneath.
Buying a door slab appears to be a pain with needing to bore holes for the handle, lock, and use a router for the hinges.
Wanted to get thoughts from people with experience.
TIA
