OT- Kansas and NE weather tonight and tomorrow

That’s poor planning. They’ve been talking about this storm for a week. Someone is getting fired.
I expect the snow in the OMA Metro will turn out to be a nothing burger. What a difference 80 miles can make.
We've had freezing drizzle since 12 noon. Hard to keep windshields clean. Finally starting to accumulate

Why the hell didn’t they fly out a day earlier? This had been forecast for a week.
It is like a 2 hour flight to Denver. They can fly out at 6am and be fine. No one needs that much time to get ready for a game. Pregame is a joke.
Really icy in our area in south KC metro…hope everyone stays safe that is impacted by this weather system.
Typical that they get them out on the runway before making them sit. Stupid airlines.

Incorrect. The Chiefs typically fly basic economy class with Spirit Airlines. They like to rack up those Spirit Savers Club points.
Always dangerous with the ice. Especially when on a highway and it doesn't look like a whole lot of anything on the road.
Was somewhat like that in my area of PA yesterday. Only about an inch or so of snow and it was blowing across the roads and freezing. Slippery as hell and you wouldn't think it was. I was going all over the road myself.
Saw a bad wreck with a lot of cops and ambulances on the scene. People didn't need much motivation to slow down anyways but there was a line of vehicles and we were all quite content going 25 in a 55.
Don't think I'm exaggerating in saying that yesterday was the most dangerous roads I've EVER driven on and I've lived in snowy PA my entire life. Never been more relieved to get home and in one piece. Wouldn't want you guys to miss out on my meaningless posts after all, lol.

Nobody wants to see/play the Bengals in the playoffs. That’s a dangerous team.
I don't know about the rest of ya but we got a dusting here in Lincoln. Weather forecasters spot on as usual.
We are forecast to get 5-8 where I live and it is coming down hard right now.
so weather has ALWAYS fascinated me, but THIS storm... nothing 50 miles south of us, but right here in Wichita.... a THUNDER snow shower at 4 am... no church but so far have not lost power🙂

That's what I am hearing in se ks (thunder ice storm)as well except they have lost power with wind and limbs down
How much yearly snow is common for you guys in Lincoln and the surrounding areas? I often see the temperatures are fairly similar to here but don't recall seeing a snow map before. Just curious.
Remember years ago seeing a PennDot snow map that had our county at around 70 inches. In comparison last year wasn't much of a winter at all - guessing 30 tops. We don't seem to get the nasty winters that we used to from 20 or even 15 years ago.

so far, no loss of power but it was reported that 10000 are without... in the last hour, we have gotten probs 3 inches 🥴
This thing either shifted south or expanded. We had freezing drizzle for 6 hours yesterday and then light snow after that maybe 1-2 inches. Probably not over yet but so far looking like dodged a bullet
Have a daughter that lives just north of manhattan and they are getting the cold and some snow. Not sure it will end up the predicted. Worries me about pipes freezing.
