OT: Jurassic World

I saw some scientist on TV complain that none of the dinos in Jurassic World had feathers, which is apparently a fact that has been discovered since the last Jurassic movie. How would they have explained that? "Well when we brought the previous dinosaurs to life we forgot to add the part of the DNA that gave them feathers."
It might do us all well to remember the opening theme song from MST3K. "If you're wondering how they eat and sleep and other science facts, repeat to yourself this is only a show I should really just relax."

You and I just can't agree at all today. I really liked the new Avengers. You have to embrace a bit of the ridiculous because it's a superhero movie, but I always like the Marvel movies.

Don't get me wrong. I loved it after the first 35-45 minutes. Just thought it really stumbled along till the middle. Then it got good.

Went to see it with my friend that I saw the first one with. About halfway through I turned to him and said "this seems familiar."

Enjoyed seeing it, but would recommend holding off until it's at Redbox or on Netflix for those who haven't seen it yet.

I saw Jurassic World last night with the Fiancée. About what I expected, I was entertained, even if I did laugh out loud at some of the more ludicrous aspects of the plot. If I was going to see it at all (which I was,) I wanted to see it on the big screen, making the money spent negligible. I would give it about a 60/100 for overall satisfaction. The sad fact is Hollywood has given up. They've all gotten lazy, and instead of working hard to put out NEW and quality films, it's just easier for them to trade on some old nostalgia and line up the "Sheeple" and their money at the turnstiles, and churn out those pathetic recasts from our childhood.

BAAAAHHHHH!

Also, saw a preview for the dramatization of 'Man on Wire' about the Twin Towers tightrope walk from the 70's. Are you KIDDING me? Just watch the documentary! It was great, and guess what, REAL. Good grief.

The Matt Damon 'Martian' movie looks awesome, however. Will definitely be seeing that one, in the theatre.

"Man on Wire" was really good, but I'm a complete sucker for documentaries. It's become my favorite genre of film. I can do marathon sessions of watching documentaries.

If you haven't seen "Exit Through the Gift Shop," I highly recommend it. "20 Feet From Stardom" is awfully good too, as are "The Wrecking Crew" and "Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me." "Blackish" was really solid too.

Saw it yesterday. Allergies have been kicking my ass and I couldn't stop coughing. Felt sorry for the other patrons that paid to listen to me cough. LOL. But seriously, it wasn't that great of a movie, but fun enough. A third of the way through the movie I leaned over to my wife and said that the heavy-set military guy was going to get eaten. It was so formulaic. CHOMP!
