For the baseball fans on the board, a couple random things to share.
1. I saw a kid pitch a couple Fridays back named Alex Scherff. He's a senior at Colleyville H.S. near Ft Worth. He's a national top 25 ranked 2017 prospect. He's a 6'4" very solidly built RHP with a 96-97 mph fastball and nasty change. The scout I talked to said he had him hitting 99 mph that night. Baseball America has him as their 10th ranked pitcher in the 2017 class. If there are nine pitchers better than him....WOW. That team also has Bobby Witt Jr who is the national #1 ranked prospect for the 2019 class.
2. My buddy has probably the best 12u team in the country. This last weekend we were in Mississippi playing in a Super 30 event. Our CF who is 6'1" and a 5 tool kid, did something that may have never been done by a 12 yr old in a tournament. He hit a HR from each side of the plate in the same game over the 250' symmetrical fence. The one he hit RH'ed cleared the fence by at least 100 feet and the one he hit LH'ed probably went about 290'. For comparison sake, the LLWS is played on a 220' fence. And no Savage, he wasn't swinging an Adidas bat.
