That really pissed me off when they didn't build one here. They ran an online poll, and whatever city got the most votes would get the next chain. Omaha won and beat out Des Moines. Here we sit years later! We still don't have one, but Des Moines does? How does that work exactly, does our City suck that much?
Do a lot of high rollers fly in to play in Council Bluffs? What about GI, Columbus, etc?You obviously have zero clue in how casinos stay in business. It isn't due to the poor people that is for sure. Its the high rollers that keep them going. The people who have private planes and fly in just to gamble. The people that so many of the common folk watch win $1200 jackpots time after time. They dint realize they are playing $50 or more per spin to hit that jackpot that often.
Ive worked in the casino business for 12 years. There is a reason they give free food and rooms to people that play a lot. Bring those winnings back and stay her for free.
Yes the poor are trying to get that big easy payday (it wont happen very often). But these casinos wouldn't be in business without the Doctors and Lawyers and.....FARMERS. they need. Losing 1 high roller is like losing 10,000 bottom card holders. So you dont need to see lots of doctors and lawyers.
You serious, Clark?Do a lot of high rollers fly in to play in Council Bluffs? What about GI, Columbus, etc?
true, I was called a killer whale by mgm and wynn, and told never to come back to vegas. You obviously have zero clue in how casinos stay in business. It isn't due to the poor people that is for sure. Yeah that is not "a fact"Don't doubt a single word you typed. Doesn't change the fact that most people (by a wide margin) in those bldgs cannot afford to be there. Get involved with a church or some other group that has a reach into the social issues these places create, instead of focusing on the 2% ers. It's heartbreaking.
I would imagine you don't even want the degenerate bottom feeders at the casino, that is not a business model that works. You obviously have zero clue in how casinos stay in business. I never knew Omaha had such a shortage of car washes. Seems like about 20 big ones are going up all around town. Would it be the end of the world if we got an epic burger or shake shack?
Absolutely! The guy said casinos survive only on the high rollers. I just don’t see the high rollers keeping the lights on in Columbus and GI. JmoYou serious, Clark?

Exactly, the formula works, clearly casinos know what they are doing. It's all relative. There's plenty of big local money here. I watched a regular blow 8k last week at blackjack in an hour at the horseshoe. Didn't seem like a problem for him.
Yes there will be sportsbooks but as a compromise there will be no wagering on college events in Nebraska. So no betting on Nebraska home games.Someone correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Sports Betting not included in the Nebraska gaming law that was passed.

Same could be said for bar owners with alcohol and convenience stores that sell cigarettes. Except the financial losses are spent in lawyer fees and medical expenses.Few years after the boats opened up here a farmer in Louisville got hooked....over a period of two years he depleted his families bank accounts, then started the process for getting a loan(s), using the farm for collateral. The banker he went to also happened to know his wife because everyone in that town knows everyone, and he called her and asked if she was aware of her husbands activities. She was not. She came down to the bank, the banker who tipped her off went over everything, and she almost immediately drove to a lawyers office to file for divorce and to protect what assets they had left because of his gambling addiction. I'm betting the people who run the boats also felt like his losses weren't a problem him "him"...turns out he wiped out his family and destroyed his marriage and kids trust, but it wasn't a problem for him, so it's all good.
Yup. Ever been to a dry county? Somehow people still find the booze.Same could be said for bar owners with alcohol and convenience stores that sell cigarettes. Except the financial losses are spent in lawyer fees and medical expenses.
There are always going to be people who are susceptible to addiction. Can’t regulate everything and everyone

How about get ready for more government spending. They will not reduce anything.Get ready for better roads and lower property taxes...
And people bitching about organized crime and hookers.
Many of rhe high rollers come in from small towns. It all boils down to which casino comps them the best or pampers them most. If the rural casinos treat them better they will shut Harrahs and possibly Ameristar down.Absolutely! The guy said casinos survive only on the high rollers. Amen! Damn bible thumpers and holy people!!Surprised the bible thumping holy rollers allowed that to happen.
Which one of you is sitting by the other? Not sure of the profession but I always end up next to a chain smoking old lady with an oxygen tank. 😠
Totally! That would be nice. We could really use some hash bars.Weed probably isn't too far behind, would be nice to not be the last state to legalize it.
A lot of obese people smoke and drink, so three strikes on them.Back to @John_J_Rambo point. Maybe they should ban a fast food joint on every corner. The obese are a bigger drain on the health care system than drugs, smoking and alcohol combined.
Forget about Giordanos it's not really that good, however do they still have Shakey's in Nebraska? That's the bomb!Chicago pizza chain
Because Nebraska voters approved casinos in 2020.Isn't they forbidden this type of gambling? Don't understand this decision at all. But maybe it's some good news. We could top up our budgets (if you are lucky). 'cause I am and sometimes had profited from https://12betno1.com/, so I hope to the same result and in the Harrah's casino. Or you don't think that it's a good idea? I can't hold only one side, so sorry me. I also love online gambling but find their brainchild a bit weird in this situation. And interesting how they got permission to build it?
No additional tracks have been approved yet.Who is building the Horse track and Casino in Gering?
I saw a drawing and everything of it posted somewhere and Gering approved it I think. No additional tracks have been approved yet.
