PlayStation Vue TV is now available nationwide. Previously it was only available in a few test markets. Vue is a LIVE broadcast streaming (over internet) TV service with no contract, as an alternative to cable/satellite.
The reason this is notable is because both "Core Slim" ($34.99/mo, no contract) and "Elite Slim" ($44.99/mo, no contract) contain the B1G Network as well as ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and Fox Sports.
Note: The reason for the "slim" in the names is because unlike the test cities, the packages available everywhere else including Nebraska do not include live network tv (Fox, CBS, etc). But that is okay for most people in cities as you just hook up an antenna to your TV and watch the normal over-the-air broadcast. Most cord-cutters are already doing this.
The only sorta "bad" thing about it is that you are required to have at least 1 Playstation machine, either a PS3 or a PS4, hooked up to one of your TVs. You can use a few other devices (Chromcast, ipad, iphone, Amazon Fire TV) on your other TVs as long as you have either a PS3 or 4 hooked up somewhere. [EDIT: Ecktacy below said this might no longer be true, and that if you have an Amazon Fire TV you might not need a PS3 or PS4.]
Anyway, lack of sports, specifically B1G Network, has been a bar to me cutting the cord previously, so this is great news for me. Since I've seen a few other threads on this topic in here before, thought I'd share.
