You might try and be a student of history. It is how propaganda works. Get people to distrust traditional sources of information. Repeat the lie often enough, Nontraditional sources publish it. Enough, nontraditional sources of information pick it up, people start believing it.

Masks decrease person to person spread of the mask from one person to another. Surgical masks work better to prevent spread from an infected person, than to an uninfected person. This is because of the particle size and and carry distance of respiratory droplets. N 95 masks work to prevent both transmission from an infected person to others, and the person wearing the mask from infection. Again due to particle size.
It takes far more honor to spread the truth that might help when it is unpopular, than spread lies that might hurt when they are popular.

Masks to stop particles are irrelevant when the particle size is aerosolized. This is why masks don't work to stop respiratory viruses. Who knows more about physics: fry cooks or doctors?
