I'm not even much of a Zeppelin fan but it's idiotic beyond words to compare Lincoln park to them. Also, Breaking: area man believes Lincoln park is going to go down as one of the best and most influential bands in history. More at 11.

Wtf is with people. What difference does it make if one child is adopted? Does it change the fact he's one of six whose father died?
Poor choice of words. "Best" is subjective enough for you to make that statement.
But not "most influential". "Lincoln park" as you call them were almost certainly the most influential big rock band in the 2000s. Not to mention sales, and it isn't even close. They have 2 albums in the top 6 sellers since 2000s, with Eminem being the only other artist to do so. But as far as rock goes, there is simply no one else.
And before you assume I'm some kind of huge fan, I haven't listened to their music at length in over a decade.
That's not the point. Regardless of how LZ and LP compare, I'm amused by people coming out of the woodwork to argue their relative merits like we can come to some conclusion about which is objectively better.
People tend to like what they listened to in their formative years. Both of those bands were influential in their time. Not sure what there is to argue about.
Lincoln park is a park in lincoln. Of course you can't compare a band to a park.
Sorry, Linkn Park always sucked. Led Zeppelin not so much. Amazing how many on this board become imaginary savant's arguing about what they feel, not what is known.

I read these comments and get the impression that none of those criticizing this man have ever dealt with serious long term clinical depression. And in many cases the antidepressants only make the situation worse.
Thankfully now, there are genetic tests available that indicate which ones will be best tolerated for each individual as well as which ones to avoid. GeneSiteRX, is 1 such test, but there are others.
Personally, I don't think I could take my own life, it's not mine to take, after all, but I'm not going to condemn those who are desperate for the pain to stop.(walk a mile in my shoes, sort of thing).

Regressing. I mean technologically and as a sciety, supposedly getting more "advanced" and i put it in quotes since i dont think some things are an advance for the better.

This discussion really hits home for me. My first wife committed suicide a week ago. She was smart and had a great career as a pharmacist. You would think she would have known how to deal with depression meds. Yet, she couldn't deal with living life. She was alone and couldn't find happiness with or without someone in her life. She could never shake her depression.
Maybe for you. I won't hate on you for taste in music, but Hybrid Theory was a generational album and extremely influential on the lives of millions. It's a coming of age album, the album transcends the band.

But seriously, One Step Closer is on one of my rock jams folders on my phone. "I'm about to break!"
Yep, I hear ya. We had a member of the Rutgers Rivals board commit suicide about 8-11 years ago. I know other members had reached out to him, but it was a shock when one of them who knew him well reported that he had committed suicide.
