Have the Golf Channel on in the background in my office and noticed that scrolling on the bottom was a tidbit about how Charlie Woods shot an 86 in his first pre-qualifier (and one of his first true tournament events ever). Looks like they had some video coverage, as well.
Not unexpected (re the coverage), but what an unfair spot to put a 15 year-old kid. His confidence will be shot before he ever can maximize his talents. Unless/until he develops into an elite amateur that warrants coverage, the media should leave the kid alone. He isn't his dad and never will be. And the pressure/criticism will kill any chance he has at making it in golf.
