(Beware long post) I've signed up for a class at Metro Tech for IT 101 kinda stuff this Fall. Want / feel the need to get an associate degree / certificates in IT is my thinking right now (I guess this computer stuff isn't going away) I'll be taking two classes this winter, one of which goes into the various disciplines (if you were) in IT. I have no idea what might be interesting or the least boring. Anybody working or taking classes in IT and what field / area are you in? What areas are the jobs in or going to be?

This old body is wearing down and after 11 operations and 20 years of walking on concrete I'm ready for a change. I work for a big company and will get tuition reimbursement which is a plus. There will probably be some opportunities to move within the company at a point after I get some classes in. I guess the hard part is getting someone to give you a chance for work experience. You see a job ad that wants a degree plus work experience etc. I feel like this a chance I need to take.

I'm capped salary wise with what I do now and don't have a lateral job move I can take. Don't need to make 100K (Which I know is minimum RSS Bank) but 50-60K in the next couple years would be a good start, with potential for more. Any advice is appreciated.

I'm ready for the F*$%ing glue factory now, but would rather head out to the STUD farm :)
