I found this thread on rivals main board that shows how to relieve lower back pain. This therapeutic practice was actually developed by an assistant trainer on the iowa team medical staff. Curious if anyone has had this done and if it really works? TIA

Yes, but hesitant to click the link. Could it be that the answers to all of my back problems are waiting for me through a rivals link to an Io_a football trainer?

I've had back problems for 30 years. I was referred to Midwest Pain Clinic in Omaha. I had a procedure done on Christmas Eve and I started feeling relief in two days and it is supposed to last 2-5 years depending the person and the severity of the problem. If I have to do this every two years I will be a happy man.

To get started you have to have three injections (kinda like an epideral) 3-4 weeks apart. This has to be done for insurance purposes. After that, you will get three incisions and they go in and burn all of the nerve endings on one side and 4 weeks after they will do the other side. Other option was to have a nickel size piece inserted in my back. I chose the first option. I have put enough shit in my body over the years, i don't need to put anything else in there. Tell you what, i will do whatever it takes to get relief my brother!!!

Ablation. Just had one myself, 4 weeks ago. Not sure on the 2-5 yr timeline, my 1st one lasted a little over a year. Unless they're doing something new now.

Ya, it's hard for people without back pain to know what it's like. It hurts when you sit, it hurts when you stand, it hurts when you lay down. It always hurts. Inversion table helps for about five minutes and that's it. If it weren't for steroid shots and PT I would have eaten a bullet years ago
AGREED

He told me there is a low percentage that it wouldn't last over two years. You must have drawn the short straw. LOLOLOL Not trying to be mean Lightning. Even if this is an annual thing i can live with that.

No worries, I hope it lasts a few years for you. If I get 9-12 months, I'll be happy.

My teeter hangup has definitely helped.

Mine made it worse. Could barely stand up and had to crawl out of the thing several times.
it can help and hurt, if you over do it.

I have the inflatable neck pillow thing.. it seems like nothing as you inflate it.. every time I have used it on my neck, it has caused me more problems than it was worth.

on the Ablation thing, that sounds like killing off nerves to remove the pain.. so you're only removing the pain receptor until another nerve can grow and take it's place. You aren't actually solving the issue that is creating the pain.. that's a big no go from my vantage point.

One could always get themself a little asian girl to walk on your back and massage you for 5-10 bucks, add another 5-10 for plus plus service, (over in Asia).. you know, live the good life.

I have broken a total of 6 vertebrae. 3 'looked like a jigsaw puzzle", another was broken in two places and the other two only broken in one place. Never damaged my spinal cord. I have had more surgeries and hardware installed than I care to remember. However I can walk and do most things I care to do. I gladly make that trade for the pain (pretty much constant) that I have.

Your mom said it worked great, she calls twice a week now.

Sorry to hear that.

I know you had no way of knowing and were just doing internet stuff. 😉 That’s why I threw out the “junior” slight. I figured you might be a bit younger (maybe I’m off on that) and you remind me of myself. When I was about 35ish I made a mom joke about a co-worker whose mom passed away a few weeks earlier. I had no idea at the time, but I decided after that I was now too old to throw around mom jokes willy nilly. 🙂

I say some pretty fvcked up shit at times, mostly for comedic value, but I don’t joke about moms and dads anymore. (and a few other things 😉)

So true. I can't even list all the ailments I've fought through in order to get laid.
I have literally thought about it WHILE ****ing!

I will have had a cough and runny nose all day...then I start ****ing (well, what I call ****ing, most men would probably argue that it is not actual sex, but that is not the point) and all of a sudden NO RUNNY NOSE, no cough, no stuffed up nose, no pain in a sprained ankle, NOTHING.

You are pretty close on the age 37. I just assumed with the name V-Doub you woud be a little younger. Sorry again though, for the comment and for your loss.
