Watching that lead evaporate was frustrating as hell. Losing Potts to start the season was devastating.
Much of the disappointment with Coach Williams stems from a bitterness and disbelief that people have about Coach Yori's dismissal. Some folks like to make the circumstances some scandalous deal having to do with player treatment or moral terpitude. Neither was the case. It came down to university policy and there was no way around it.
People think that a 20 point lead in basketball is a blowout. It is fools gold. Other teams making a run? Part of the game.
Coach Williams recruited a stud in Prince, has a good post and proficient guard play in the absence of Potts. More help on the way as she continues to recruit well. She is a damn good coach. Judging a basketball coach by the natural ebb and flow of a game is a bit shortsighted.
Yeah Potts loss huge. Glad we have bozan for depth. Man that dude that's at every game doing the go Big red (WRONG) Is so annoying. Hopefully someone gets him straightened out or is a student and leaves soon. Man annoying and takes away authenticity because he won't shut up
I know more about what kind of person Yori is than most Husker fans. I was very disappointed when Nebraska hired her.
Some still seem to think Yori was replaced by lesser. She was replaced by better.
NU had some long stretches where they couldn’t score. Losing Potts was a bad deal and we’re playing young girls a lot of minutes. This team is still figuring out how to play without one of the best players in the conference.
We had a 17 point lead and started playing not to lose rather than keep playing. We got lazy on d and quit moving on o. Tied midway through 4th. Psu better player in early foul trouble and Psu found a way to play and get better without her. Then they made the mistake of putting her in. Between that and NU stepping up late, we won comfortably
I'm a big women's sports fan and the women have been very good the past few years, but this game did no favors for women's basketball by either team. The turnovers and missed point blank shots was ridiculous. Yes they had a 17 point lead and almost lost the game because of turnovers and many unnecessary 3 point attempts.
